Axl Rose Talks New GNR Music, Potential Autobiography, and Touring with AC/DC
6/8/2016 by Monique Melendez

Axl Rose kept his appearance at the China Exchange in London all about the music.

The Guns 'N Roses frontman-turned-AC/DC touring lead singer brought up Guns 'N Roses' future as the band's 30th anniversary draws nearer. "We [GNR] are working on new stuff," Axl said. "I've got a lot of stuff together, and I played some stuff for Slash and Duff and they liked it. And Angus [Young, AC/DC guitarist] and I are talking about working together."

AC/DC With Axl Rose Unveil Rescheduled U.S. Tour Dates Axl opened up about the possibility of following in Slash's and Duff McKagan's footsteps and publishing a memoir. "[I]t's tough, because I have to figure out how to word things in a way that doesn't just look like I'm being negative to everyone else or calling them a liar." Axl went on to reveal he took issue with Slash's self-titled autobiography: "Slash and I hadn't talked in 19 years, and [when we reunited] it was a good talk. And I was like, 'You wrote a lot of stuff that didn't even happen. It's not real.'"

Axl, who was deigned as one of the world's greatest singers in a viral list, hasn't released a solo album and doesn't entertain plans to do so -- "unless it was instrumental soundtrack stuff."

We [Guns N’ Roses] are working on new stuff. I’ve got a lot of stuff together, and I played some stuff for Slash and Duff and they liked it. And Angus and I are talking about working together.”

Axl will continue to tour with AC/DC for their Rock Or Bust tour through Europe and America as Brian Johnson recovers from hearing issues. "I feel protective, [like] I do not want to let this guy down, more than almost anybody I’ve ever met," Axl said about Johnson. [HTGTH Note: The question was "And how is your relationship with Angus from AC/DC?]
