From the pictures it didn't look like there were many empty seats anywhere ... I wonder if they sold a lot of walk ups.

Looked awesome, didn't it?

I imagine any first or only night in a town will be like that.  Pretty packed.

Every city is just going to be a huge party sing a long with uncle Axl and 45 thousand friends!

I can't wait to follow the next show ... I think they are going to really mix it up nice n good.

I was at the show last night. Fantastic. Just amazing to see the band in the form it is in right now.

I'm watching the Jungle video linked earlier. Good video. Dizzy just kills it on that song playing those bongos.

Yeah. Those bongos are a nice addition to the band sound.

From what I can remember it was pretty standard, just calling out their names. He paused a bit before the last introduction, and simply said "Slash". Big cheer at the end.

I also noticed Richard got a lot of love from the crowd, big cheer whenever he was introduced. That was nice.

FINALLY found someone who recorded Coma (although I don't think the guy just reuploaded):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ix4hBoerPo

I think these shows will be a lot tighter than the Illusion ones.
I think sky dog was talking more about how Slash and Duff improved. I dunno for Duff, but I def agree on Slash. He was amazing before with his technique, but I believe he improved his phrasing. He relies less on repetition and he's able to play a bit faster now.

Has Slash spoken at a gig yet??
Don't think so. I heard Duff yelling something when Axl said "good night" for the first time, I think after Mr. Brownstone and before Chinese.

In the interest of context: How much did he talk (meaning audibly, to the crowd) during the gigs in the AFD/UYI era?

Or, for that matter, with VR? or with Miles?

I sort of remember him being generally silent when he's on stage, during gigs.  Before and after...he seems pretty gregarious.  But during gigs, he seems like he's generally the silent type, letting his playing speak for him (and he's probably pretty preoccupied with what he's doing Wink  )

I saw the AFD/UYI lineups 8 times....I don't think I ever remember his saying anything to the crowd during those shows.....I could be wrong...it was a LONG time ago (over 20 years !?)...but that's what I remember.
