I 100% agree.  The material is just......wow. I hope it gets judged on it's merits by the populace at large because this is, IMHO,worthy of "album of the year" consideration.  It's that good.

I took the train into NYC, stayed for the listening party, and then took the train BACK to New Haven.  Then drove an hour home, fell on the bed for a few hours, and got up to come to work.  I hear ya on the "dragging"....

Smiley

It was a good time.  Wish I'd had time to set up some "meet ups" with my fellow forum members, but....it wasn't for sure that I was definitely going to make it til about noon-ish, yesterday.  I had an alternate plan to head up to Boston, tomorrow, if need be.  And when it finally became apparent I was going to be able to get my ass out of work....I cut and run before they could find something else to tangle me up in.  Smiley

Absolutely..yeah these listening events kind of popped up out of nowhere so it was like a game time decision for a lot of people, making it harder to organize "meet ups" and things like that.  Next time there is a concert in the area it will be way easier to plan..wish I knew you were there Pilferk, I would have bought you a drink for all of my nonsense in the political thread over the years... hihi  next time!

Glad everyone dug the album, it was cool to see everyone really into the music and cheering after every song...The dj from K-rock who hosted last night mentioned that today...and Bumblefoot was awesome..really cool of him to make the trip over for that...

Trying to decide whether to make the trek to the Roxy tonight.  Was it worth it for those that attended the listening event in NY?

Its been almost 7 years since Chinese Democracy was released.  Yikes.... somehow I completely missed this event haha.  I had no idea this happened until just now.  Even though I am not the biggest fan of CD I wish I would have been at this event.
