i hate it. the s in roses is cut off. it looks very dull and boring. and how does this reflect chinese democracy? i say the bloody star with the fetuses from the promos should be the cover.

Am I right? Kind of has that vibe?

lol.... yeah ok. it belongs no where near those covers... lol. i hate it. i'm focused on the music cuz the art just plain sux. that's decent for inside the album or a sleever or something... not the damn cover.

Like you said, a random feel. And the cool thing is that this is a real pic taken in China.

If you mean timeless, then I would agree.

By looking at the picture, you can't exactly say "oh, it's from the 2000s".

i agree with Nixon on that one. I am starting to like it alot at first i was like damnit but now its the irony that gets me the most on how something so simple covers something so complex

I would have been disappointed if they went for some Dungeons and Dragons, Judas Prient/Maiden thing.

well i was expecting something like what thorned rose has on his avatar. I like that one and the other one that was in rotation for a while. Or the susicide bomber guy i like that one too.

i'll take this one though Smiley

Can anyone hook me up with a hi-res image of the album cover por favor?

I quite like it, it'd be interesting to see what the other cover(s) are, n the artwork for the single and whatnot.

Don't like it at all.
For such a 'big' album it should have an iconic cover. AFD is iconic, UYI is powerful and dynamic. This is dull and boring. Even the font is basic and boring. There's no colour, no dynamics. It's a black and white picture of a bike.
It looks like a cover some garage band came up with for their EP using Paint.
And in regards to the 'simple' argument- the Dark Side of The Moon cover is simple, and it is powerful, bold and iconic. This is simple, but is just that- simple. I mean, it's not even well composed- they barely fit the 'Guns N' Roses' graffiti in. This isn't going to make people want to pick it up off the shelf.
Hopefully this isn't the final cover or what they are going to use. For an album so long in the making I'd have thought they'd have spent a bit more time on the cover.

UYI cover was pretty bad.

This classic. Nothing flashy and I'm digging the sort of sepia with black and white color scheme for the font.

I like it, very thought provoking. But one complaint I have is the text is too big, it would be better without the massive GUNS N'ROSES.

I like the idea of just the name on the wall and Chinese Democracy along the side.

My thoughts exactly!!!

I think it would make it complete if Axl would do like a "Forward" in the album sleeve.... He could explain the history of the image and why he chose it... It would make people understand and appreciate it a little better...

Think of how the kid who sent that to him feels  peace

The UYI cover was a little plain, but powerful still.. effectively capturing your illusions that the world is just a certain colour Wink

I'll be honest with you, the album cover could be hot pink with two zebras mounting each other and I couldn't care less.  Now on a serious note, I like the album cover, nothing extraordinary, but it makes a statement nonetheless.

I love it. Restraint when everyone expected something crazy and "deep". I love the "story" behind the photo too... randomly discovering "Guns N' Roses" spray painted some place thousands of miles away and years after their "mega fame" and the UYI tour, etc. A simple and humble place from which the GN'R machine rises from the ashes once again. That's how I view it anyway.

At any rate, at the end of the day, IF the music is as great as it seems... it WILL become a legendary album cover.... just like the music on AFD elevated the relatively simplistic cross and skull drawing/tattoo to an all-time classic. ok

I think it the album cover is cool but too simple. It does not say much. I think the title "Chineese Democracy" is a powerful statement and a powerful title. The cover art does not compliment the title of the album. I think they should have even done something controversial to stir up the media just like the good old days when they released AFD and they had to put the original album cover on the inside sleave. Shit like that does not happen anymore.
