Well guys shoulf I buy the remade album? I mean is it anything great at all?
So far what I've heard is that it was a mistake and it's very sad of an effort. I want to buy it but I don't want to buy it and then not like it. I like all of their album, 7800 Farenheit is my least favorite though.

I'd get it after a lot more listening to it i become more impressed i appreciate what they have done and it sounds good on songs like 'It's My Life' there are a few mediocore tracks but only one truly screwed up 'Wanted Dead or Alive' if your a Bon Jovi fan i say get it

Not unless you already own Crossroads, Slippery, New Jersey, Keep The Faith, These Days, and Crush.
Seriously, the album has a couple of good songs... but a lot of them aren't very interesting to listen to at all. You have to be in a certain mood to listen to it at all. But hey, I'm happier that they released this instead of a "regular" greatest hits.

true this album does require a certain mood to enjoy however i think you give love a bad name, its my life, lay your hands on me,keep the faith and most importantly everyday work very very well on this record
everyday is awesome on this left feels right where as the bounce version was to poppy
bad medicine, born to be my baby are growing on me but the new jersey songs dont translate well except for lay your hands on me
bad medicine, born to be my baby and ill be there for you at times sound almost corny in this new style, those songs didnt translate well into the 21st century especially in the new style
i like the new wanted i like olivia d'abo's voice on livin on a prayer
i find myself mostly listening to the jazzy catchy you give love a bad name, the beautiful ballad of its my life and the very uplifting and touching everyday
i must give my co fav band some credit for at least attempting to do something different, they've been bashed for playing it to safe, this was very different and unsafe, so i give them credit for that

I will admit i wasn never a hug Jovi fan but they have had some good tunes, but i dont think people should diss the group from bringing in some outsiders to help write a few songs, almost all bands do it nowadays, they got the swedish diudes to help them out on a few tunes, Leppard used these guys on X, sure they helped brittney and other pop acts but these guys are metalheads at heart, reading an article about when they were producing a few sounds on X from leppard and they made Viv Campbell play Last In line from his Dio days all night , so i cant rag on any band for doing that , it brings a freshness to the songs and the band so props to them.

Bon Jovi are on of my favourite bands, but I have to say, what they've done with
This Left Feels Right
is very disappointing. What they've basically done is taken their best songs and removed the hooks, choruses, energy, or whatever that made us love them in the first place. Not one of the new versions I heard improved upon the old. Thing is, it might have been cool if Bon Jovi had tried this stripped-down approach on a bunch of new songs. But why just re-hash all your old stuff? We already have versions we like, thank you very much. Bon Jovi has already sent those songs through the machine again twice, with the
Cross Road
greatest hits CD and
One Wild Night - Live
. Why bother coming out with another one? Make some NEW songs, because Bon Jovi is one of those bands that can still write songs just as well as they used to in their heyday. My personal favourite Bon Jovi album is
These Days
, which is more stripped-down than their other stuff, but retains that gift for catchy melodies and engaging choruses and hooks, but improves on the lyrics. It's a direction that Bon Jovi might have followed further with a bunch of new songs. Instead, they put out this lame compilation of bastardized greatest hits. Sad sad sad.

BON JOVI are slated to release THIS LEFT FEELS RIGHT: LIVE, a DVD companion to their latest album THIS LEFT FEELS RIGHT. On FEBRUARY 9 (international) and FEBRUARY 10 (USA and Canada)2004 BON JOVI will release the LIVE DVD. BON JOVI performed two intimate shows at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey on November 14 & 15. These unique shows were the only two times the songs in their THIS LEFT FEELS RIGHT formats would be performed live. In addition to the 12 songs included on the CD, BON JOVI also performed two never-before-released tracks ('Last Man Standing' and Thief of Hearts') as well as a fantastic rendition of the classic Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show song 'Sylvia's Mother.' They filmed the concerts in High Definition Video and now you get to experience the magic in your own home.
Following is the SET LIST:
LOVE FOR SALE*
YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME
WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE
LIVIN' ON A PRAYER
IT'S MY LIFE
MISUNDERSTOOD*
LAY YOUR HANDS ON ME
SOMEDAY I'LL BE SATURDAY NIGHT*
LAST MAN STANDING*
SYLVIA'S MOTHER*
EVERYDAY
BAD MEDICINE
BED OF ROSES
BORN TO BE MY BABY
KEEP THE FAITH
JOEY*
THIEF OF HEARTS*
I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU
ALWAYS
BLOOD ON BLOOD*
*Not on CD Version
The DVD includes the entire set list above and the option to choose the songs by chapter. It also includes a 30 minute Behind-The-Scenes segment and your choice of audio selections (stereo, Dolby, DTS.)
The LIMITED EDITION 2-DVD includes all of the above PLUS: INTERACTIVE POKER with BON JOVI - you can play poker with Jon, Richie, David and Tico. If you win the hand, you can watch footage of BON JOVI performing life from June 2003's legendary Hyde Park concert in London. (But don't worry - if you can't play or you can't win, you can still check out all the performance highlights from Hyde Park via the VIDEO JUKEBOX option.) Also included is a 15-minute QUESTION & ANSWER segment with the band, a PHOTO GALLERY and the MULTICAM VIEWING OPTION (you get the opportunity to choose the vantagepoint and video footage you're watching and edit it on your own!)
And all of you who were so worried about the Borgata shows being webcast, then shown on TV... the DVD is that and so much more.
The DVD will be coming out internationally. More info on packaging and lifespan of the limited editions as we get details. We can confirm that the COVER ART of the DVD will be a true companion piece to the cover of the THIS LEFT FEELS RIGHT cd. The man sitting on the suitcase has moved from the train platform to the Atlantic City boardwalk!

still love Bon Jovi, really listen to alot of their older stuff in my 'rotation',I'll Be There For You is on my all time favs list
I think the new cd is just different, not good or bad, just different, still Bon Jovi but with a little something missing I can't put my finger on...you really gotta give the boys cred though for still being together, still producing music and still touring...

which new cd? this left feels right or bounce?
this left feels right was a one time experiment just to give the fans something different instead of a greatest hits of songs they already own and a couple new songs tacked on at the end
i think they are just as good as the old days certainly new jersey is probably the greatest cd of theirs and probably one of the best of the 80's it kills slippery when wet come on new jersey had 5 top 10 singles 2 number ones
theyve gotten a little older their music is just a little more mature i think still great though!

Nice to find this topic. "New Jersey" was in my mom's vynil collection. It was long ago, I didn't like that kind of music then. But soon I've changed my mind I still think this record is their best.
Their new things are not as brilliant as the early ones but are good anyway. I do respect them 'cos this band was sorta my first teacher in rock. Long live BON JOVI!!!

Slippery when wet was their breakrough album, but it's not the best as everyone (almost everyone) say. The worst thing it's too commercial (what is easy to understand.) In my opinion New Jersey has better songs on it and it is band's first professional "their own" album. But it's only my opinion, it doesn't mean I don't respect yours.

shit my fault stonedmaids let me clarify, i meant to say new jersey was commercially their greatest album, although slippery sold more new jersey had the most hits and i think blood on blood and wild is the wind couldve easily been top 40 singles
these days is probably my fav cd, its certainly there deepest, darkest and most interesting there total left of right which was awesome
i love all bon jovi cds pretty much the same, i love crush as much as these days and bounce the same but just in different ways

Bon Jovi is the band which I grew up with and I owe that to my cousin. Back in 1993 when I was about 9 years old, she forgot two tapes, (slippery when wet and new jersey), on my grandmothers' drawer,(no need to say that she never found them again
), giving me the chance to get to know that big music genre known as ROCK.
I cant pick a fav album cause they are all my fav and the same goes for the songs
but I have to admit that I really love Livin On A Prayer and Wanted and Never Say Goodbye and Always and U Give Love A Bad Name and Wild Is The Wind and Bad Medicine and This Aint A Love Song and Hearts Breaking Even and Open All Night and and and.......

I've got Richie's Sambora "Undiscovered Soul". But some years back he released "Stranger in this town". What do you think about this rec? And is "One Light Burning" taken out of it? If it is then this song 's the only I've got from this album,'cause it's damn hard to find in our city even to order.

I've not yet heard any of Richies solo work but am told they are good albums. As for This left feels right, I agree with the view of most here that it is not a huge success. But in terms of what I think they meant to achieve it is a success, like was said what's the point in churning out a greatest hits album like they have done before? I think I would have prefered a flat out accoustic album but it is interesting what they have done and Jon's vocals are very impressive. One other thing to note is that the album was put together very quickly so they didn't have time to mess about like they did with cruch and bounce and is therefore much more about the stripped down music. Hopefully the next full blown studio album they will stick to what they get straight out of the studio. Next up however will be a 3 cd boxset of unrelesed tracks from through the years. I just pray they bring out the hyde park concert on DVD, I was the there and it was something special.
