Year Zero I think was a bit of a disappointment but still better than most other things this year. Zeitgeist is an amazing album, that'd be my number one. Past that it's a crapshoot.

The Wildhearts - The Wildhearts ( very original name for something like their 20th album, but totally kickass)

So far the only albums released this year that I really like are White Stripes- Icky Thump, and Velvet Revolver- Libertad. I'm thinking of possibly picking up the new smashing pumkins album on my next visit to the record store though.

With a few years of utter shit under our belts, I feel like it's been a pretty good year for major music releases this year (
Chinese Democracy
or not). Time to call this one. What're your top 5 favorite albums released so far this year? Obviously it'll change as the year progresses. Mine in order...
Edit: Change of heart, had to switch two up.
I would agree with all of those except for the new Ozzy, not that great, IMHO.
I also really like the new Tori Amos and QOTSA.

Libertad is definately my favourite album this year, funky rocking album!
the Pumpkins album and White Stripes albums aren't bad either.

Although I like Libertad, my number one of 2007 is definately Carry On from Chris Cornell. Really an amazing album, a lot of variety in the songs and strong lyrics (this could be better on Libertad). I think he put a good band around him, he does the rest.
