OK - have got some info from my guy -

the Entertainment Centre is in Hindmarsh, 15 minute walk from the centre of the city, $8 cab ride maximum. Picking a hostel/hotel on the 'West Terrace' side of the city or the O'Connel Street side of North Adelaide will put them in a prime access position. The Gov (the governor Hindmarsh Hotel)   http://www.thegov.com.au/gig_guide.htm sits right on the entertainment centre's doorstep and used to have cheap rooms.  Tried calling but no answer.  if they don't have rooms they will def. recommend something cheap close by.
