I just hope he didn't scream

'YOU'RE GONNA DIIIIIIE'

because that would be awkward

And why would you think that? Is that because you did? It is amazing the way you guys think. It is amazing how sick your mind is. And, if that suppose to be funny; it was far from been funny.
Beta

I don't think anyone on this forum thinks there's something funny about this disease.
Axl the Red just said it would be awkward if something like that happened.
I'm sure he didn't mean to offend anyone.

There's nothing funny about the disease...agreed. ?However, I don't think he meant it to be offensive.

Anyhow, glad to see Axl at the Benefit. ?I think it's wonderful he was there.

That's unreal. I'm thinking Axl did a Beatles song. Thanks for those pictures as well. Would love to see some footage of this sometime. Good on you Axl.

Hell yeah. Two different legends in their own rights.
I was taken back by how awestruck seems in the photos where hes talking to Ali.
Good work Axl.

He says the "maybe we gotta be extra careful......." and "this whole thing was fucked up" lines, among others.  I believe they are from the movie "Casualties of War".

See I love to see these positive things, that Axl does. Parkinsons is a very scary disease and I feel for those who have to suffer with it. Axl is class act for making a appearance.  ok

« Reply #92 on: November 12, 2006, 06:16:43 AM »

Woah! This is some great news to wake up to. There are many fantastic causes in the world and campaigning for Parkinsons is certainly one of them. I know someone who has the disease so fair play to anyone who supports in any shape or form. Once again it shows that Axl has a great heart. Yet another positive thing about the man and the band and the whole GnR thing! Add in the fact that there is a photo of Axl Rose and Mohammed Ali. Now that is a moment to remember. Mike? ?

show some respect to Beta.

you never know whose lives may be personally effected by parkinsons.   this thread isn't the appropiate place to make jokes like that.    theres a time and a place, but this aint it.

I?m overwhelmed.
a member of my family also suffers from Parkinsons, and Axl performing at a PD benefit is something I really respect, and am really grateful.

Thanks Axl.

I just think that thisis proof positive of what a good person can be like when he is surrounded by the right people. Guns today is a group of stand up people with families and a genuine desire to express their articticc vision without having to tear their lives and everyone else around thems lives up in the process. No offense to the old band, but we all go through that crazy stage in our lives, some more than others.

Ax has always struck me as a genuine, and decent cat. And now, older, wiser and surrounded by people that bring him up and not down, you get to see what he probably would have been doing more of before if circumstances had allowed for it. The visit to the cancer clinic was wonderful of him, my mother died of it and its a horrob;e disease. My grandmother died with parkinson's and it too, is a horrible disease.

Anyway, usually I think good people do good things and don't necessarily need to be congratulated for it, but suffice it to say that my childhood hero seems to be eveything I always believed about him 20 years ago and now the rest of the world is seeing it. To paraphrase an earlier poster, aren't you glad you can say you were a fan since day 1?

Peace, guys, have a good Sunday.

I dont think the "you're gonna die" line was at all necessary, and i didnt find it funny at all.  Maybe because I have a close friend with Parkinsons.  It was pretty insensitive.  and I dont want anyone to tell me to "lighten up" thanks.

But...  moving on from that, I think its wonderful that axl was there.  A great piece of news to read this morning - thank you for the info and great pics.  AXl and michael J - awesome.  seriously nice thing to do, axl.
