Any tips on speeding up the healing? How long does it usually take to disappear? I'm going mad over here  Sad

How badly are you burnt?

Take your shirt off, so it won't rub your shoulders and neck (I know it sounds sexy, but it is all MEDICAL advice  yes) Just keep it cool, no more sun, aftersun lotion will help against the pain and the itching. Good luck!

Depends on the generating quality of your skin and how badly you are burnt. First day is horrible (gonna be difficult to sleep tonight), but it should pick up after three days. Mind you, I'm a teacher, not a doctor. I know this cause I only have to LOOK at the sun to get burnt!  nervous

Aloe Vera is the single greatest sunburn remedy on the planet.  I've had BAD burns, used Aloe, and not even peeled....

It's the greatest stuff on earth...it can also help in healing small cuts and such, and regular burns as well.

Someone already mentioned aloe vera, which is usually the best for sunburns. Cetaphil cream is also good for helping with dry, peeling skin.

It'll probably take a week to completely heal. It depends on how severe it is.

Wear your SPF 50 sunblock next time Evo!!

Sound advice right there. As Stoned will testify I stupidly neglected any kind of skin care on the  Friday of the Download Festival.

You're probably allergic to the PABA in sunblock, a lot of people are. There's lots of sunscreens which are PABA free and frangrance free. If you have sensitive skin, look for sunscreens that have "physical blockers" such as micronized zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
