Haven't heard the Lou Reed thing but I agree with respecting Metallica's decision to try something new - no matter how horrific you guys are making it seem.
In my opinion, St.Anger and Death Magnetic were nothing to write home about anyway, so maybe it's all downhill from here.

Oh, I fully support them in doing whatever they want to do. I hate it when bands only do things because other people (fans/media/record label) want them to do it.

It's still fucking awful, but I prefer people to take risks and fail than pull an AC/DC and just do the same thing over and over again.

You're right about Ac/Dc..but I believe they're the exception because I actually wouldn't WANT to hear them try a different style - they're good at what they do and their fans want what they continue to do

Lulu isn't a commercial thing, this album was made for art fans. I tink, it deserves 7.5/10 points.

I know exactly what Lulu is. It based on two works from german writer Frank Wedekind ('Erdgeist' and 'Die B?chse der Pandora'). Wedekind made a musical called 'Lulu', based on this two works from him.
But that's the problem. How many Metallica fans even know that facts?

Oh, I wouldn't say that. It was not made for 'Master of Puppets' Fans from Metallica. This is something new, and i can understand, when someone dislike it. But for me, it sounds good.

I didn't like what I heard either. But hey, all you have to do is not listen to it. Certainly doesn't discount all the other amazing things Metallica has done.

On that note, I was listening to the Black album for the first time in awhile today. The Struggle Within? That guitar solo?

Metallica Working On 3D Movie

Metallica have plans to release a 3D movie later this year.

Metallica, who has a history of bucking new trends in music and technology, are going where few have so far and putting out the 3D film.

Some media sources have mentioned the movie over the last couple of months and, now, the group have gone onto their website to confirm the project:

As you know, we generally make it a policy not to comment on gossip or rumors, but we also pride ourselves on being first with ?TALLICA news. So, with that said, the more astute of you may have noticed a couple of mentions in trade publications, and most recently in the new issue of Rolling Stone, that a METALLICA 3D movie is in the works. We?re here to tell you that, yes, there is indeed a 3D project in the very early stages of production! We wish we could tell you more right now, but we don?t have all the finer points nailed down just yet. What we can tell you is that we are planning on being in a theatre near you sometime in 2013 and as you hear us say ever so often, this will be the space for all the details as we finalize them.

At this time, nobody is saying whether this is a documentary, a concert film or some other type of project.
