I think it will mostly focus on jame's problems and how he overcame then in the face of such adversity.

Lar's drumkit getting nicked and being replaced by joey jordisons from Slipknot.

And the best bass player ever joining the band.

Id rather go watch em live. Let the Rock do the talking!

Yet another drunk, drugged up musician selling his "story" to the media.

Fantastic.

I won't be watching it, mostly because I rule, and stuff.

The directors are gonna have to do one hell of a job if they are going to make a bunch of footage about a band in the studio and some guys serious but nonetheless not chronic alcoholism engaging enough for a cinematic release. In other words - though I still like Metallica nd all, I can't see myself making the effort to go to the cinema to see this.

Fiirst it was Load and then Re-load, then it was that piece of shite St. Anger, and now a movie, that is probably gonna be based on how Hetfield had problems with alcohol. I dunno, I already thought it couldn't get much lower but, well........

Best Metallica stuff is 'Kill 'em All', 'Ride the Lightning' and 'Master of Puppets' after those 3 albums you could put all there 'decentish' songs from the other albums onto probably a ten track:

1. One
2. Fuel
3. The Unforgiven
4. Nothing Else Matters
5. Until It Sleeps
6. The Shortest Straw
7. The Memory Remains
8. Wherever I May Roam
9. Harvester of Sorrow
10. Sad But True

Every song on every album between Kill em all and Metallica is awesome, these are five of the greatest albums ever, Metallica was consistently brillaint. There is not one song that is less that unbelievable on their first three albums, but deffinetly get the first 5.....we are talking seriously good albums. After Metallica they went downhill big time.....

get S&M for the version of Master of Puppets.....with the orchestra that song becomes something else.

Albums in descending order of preference (best song in brackets):

Metallica - (Wherever I may roam)
Ride the Lightning (Creeping death)
Master of Puppets (Sanitarium)
St Anger (All within my hands)
Live Shit ( Nothing else matters)
Load (King Nothing)
Garage Inc ('98 section - Sabbra cadabra, Old section - Last caress/green hell)
S&M (The memory remains)
Kill 'em all (No remorse)
And Justice for all (Eye of the beholder)
Reload (Fixxxer)

Hmmm... Michael Kamen and his tuxedoed friends might add something to the middle section of MOP, but make the rest of the song sound like a bloody mess. Those widely varing results run right through the album (which I think is mostly good).

How you put St Anger so high, and Kill 'em All so low is beyond me... nervous

Relax, man, I like both - there's not alot between them to be honest, I just think St Anger has more depth and maturity... or something.

St Anger is an okay album.....but compared with the first three albums it is dog poo and an utter travesty.

Damn, somebody really did some searching to dig out this old thread!   Shocked

Believe it or not, I've never been a Metallica buff.  But the song "Fade to Black" off their Ride the Lightning album is great.
