Here Today...And Back Tommorrow

where/when did he say that? I'm not doubting you as such, just curious.

My apologies for my little rant if I'm wrong. The rest of my post still stands though, subjectivity and all! LOL!

Axl said during the first 2002 vegas show that Oh My God was  a demo. I was there.

It doesn't  make a fucking bit of sense, but that wha the said. H e also said he found out about the European tour that was subsequently cancelled that he found out about it onthe internet, so who the fuck knows. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I feel this song was put on a soundtrack as a test to see the public and fans reaction to a total 180 in sound,I dont think it would been good to drop an entire industrial sounding album without seeing the reaction from people, that said I hope CD is more like the leaks and live tracks then OMG and Silkworms

« Reply #147 on: June 11, 2006, 01:33:18 AM »

OMG was one of them songs i did not take well to at 1st in 1999. You know after getting live era and not noing anything about what axl was doing at the time. I had to hear it alot for it to grow on me. BUT now and for along time i think its one of the best CD era songs so far. I hope they put out the song on the album. But in a updated way.  beer

At first, when I heard OMG.. i honestly thought.. WTF!!!! hihi

I just didn't expect something like that...

Nowadays, it's one of the most played songs on my iTunes. It's really a cool, hardrocking song.. i just love it!

2 questions though...

1. Whats this song even about?
2. If this is just a demo, will we ever hear a more finished version, or do you think they just called it quits with that song? I'm sure they made it better, wonder if we'll ever hear that though..

If I remember correctly it was Nytunz who reported that Dizzy had said to him in Oslo that they have indeed recorded a newer version of this song.

I hope we hear it someday.  beer

aye, it plays over the end credits I think. I didnt think much of it on a first listen - but it grabbed me and I listen to it shitloads now - I really, really like it. ?Would love to hear a version that axl classes as "finished" rather than demo. ?would love to hear it at Wembley...(i know the chances are slim!)

i know they played it at HOB and RIR3. i dont think it was played any more than that, though I could be wrong.

Babydolls, the chances of you hearing OMG at wembley, are lower than the chances of you getting a relase date that day hihi

I would love to hear an up to date version of this song. I really enjoy it, and when I first heard it I wasn't disappointed at all. I think its needs some cleaning up, but I wouldn't be dissapointed if this appeared on an album with Rhiad and Silkworms ( Shocked another song I think has probably been fucked around with lots and could be really cool in a punky - techno - rock kinda way)

Some people enjoy the classic sounding new GNR songs (catcher, twat, the blues), some enjoy the newer style (maddy, better, omg, rhiad).

Its great for me because I like both although I do think it would be good to separate them into diffrent albums.

it was played 4times - Las Vegas HOB 01-01-01, RIR3 and two Vegas Hard Rock Hotel shows 01-12-29 & 01-12-31. according to people who saw the two Vegas shows, the performance was flawless, but unfortunately we don't have any bootleg no
