A trilogy is three parts, why is "Estranged" part IV?

They were going to do four but that didn't happend so they called the 'Estranged' part IV.. I don't really know why, looked cool or something.

No, it hasn't been. I'm surprised this was sent to Dead Horse. Its cool that you pointed this out, I had never bothered to notice it. Maybe some other song from the albums was supposed to be part 3, but plans for a video were shelved.

As far as I remember, the video for Estranged was supposed to be part 3. Plans changed and the video story was changed so it turned into a completely different story.

part 3 was supposed to be the sequelle to November Rain, ya know everybody was supposed to find out how Steph died and Stuff. ?I think that because of the breakup between Steph and Axl that didn't happen and Estranged ended up being the next step. ?Watching the making of Estranged or November Rain i can't remember exactly which one Del James says that since they didn't make part 3 you would have to by his book if you wanted to know how Steph died cause he said he wasn't ?tellin. ?Name of the book "Without You"

Of course UYI rocked. I was talking about how they were milking  dated albums in late92/93 with new singles/videos during the peak of the grunge era. Not a very smart move.

Weren't Loco-motive & Coma supposed to be part of that whole GNR epic video thing, but, like so many other Guns related ideas, just never happened. locomotive would kind of fit in there before estranged lyrically & broken up the string of ballads.

Interesting observation. But I think 'Breakdown would have fit the trilogy better than the songs you mentioned. But, like you said, we'll never know. By the way, good to see you back Botaxl!

i really dont think that the book is part 3 of the trilogy... the book was the inspiration of the histories of the videos..
i think estranged is part 4 cuz the combination of triyng to be funny and cuz stephanie broke up with axl by the time n they couldnt do the estranged video with her and finish the history.... so instead of makin part 3 with another person, they made video with the concept of the break up... and it became  "part 4"
