Nicholas Cage was going to  play superman in "Superman lives" that I think was written by Kevin SMith.

It could have been cool it was goig to be about the Death and Retuen of Superman. And I think was going to be directed by Tim Burtpn .

I just hope that they try to have a good story with this one . and not  just focus on the effect shots and action seguences .

have u heard about the story?

My brother told me this,

the story takes place with SUperman having been gone from earth for years and he comes back and the world doesnt need him anymore, Lois Lane is married etc etc

that alone has been very very fuckin interested
Yes I do heard that history also I heard it's gonna be more focus like a love history. I wanna see some previews now!!  rant

Yeah, I think she actually has a 5-year-old kid in the movie too.  The only question is whether the father is Superman or Richard White, her new boyfriend in the movie.  Interestingly enough, the movie is supposed to take place approximately 5 years after the events of Superman II...where, if you recall, Big Blue and Lois Lane finally got laid.  Hmm...

Cant be Superman's kid "See Brody from Mallrats"

The only way he couldve banged an ordinary chick was to wear a kryptonite condom and that wouldve killed him.

lol....kryptonite condom.  Now THAT would be interesting.

Actually, I saw this cool episode of the TV show Smallville where this guy tries to kill Clark Kent by using kryptonite bullets.  I'm surprised none of the Superman writers ever thought of using that device before.

Superman would totally slay Batman

Batman is regular guy with toys

Superman as stated in Kill Bill Vol 2. is the only true superhero

whereas other superheroes are humans who dress up to become superheroes

Superman is the only one who is alreadya superhero but has to dress as a human

he can fly batman cant

he can freeze things, use his fire vision plus he is a a thousand times stronger than even "the Thing"

so it is impossible to believe Batman could even stand a chance against Superman

superman wasn't born a superhero though, the earth's sun gives him those powers.. So just like spiderman or batman he was not born a superhero

Either way he is the most powerfull superhero and the one I'd want to be like

Having loved SUperman since I was 10, i can't wait for this film! In some ways, it is the 'Chinese Democracy' of films for me.there were so many false starts, rotating scripts, casts and directors for this thing since the last Superman in 1988 that most peole never thought it could happen. Yet here we are some seven months from its release ok
Proving even things that appear impossible can happen,

A whole new series of images just released the other day.  Man, I seriously cannot wait for this movie!  By the way, did anyone see Brandon Routh (the actor playing Superman) presenting an award with Teri Hatcher at the Golden Globes the other day?  I missed it myself, because I don't really watch awards shows.

So this is going to be a sequal to "Superman II." Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be a sequal to "Superman IV"? So is this like Superman III, redone?

Also, if the film takes place five years after "Superman II," would the film take place in '85?

I think it's more because Superman III and IV are huge pieces of shit that everybody wants to forget.  Bryan Singer, the director, has stated that the movie puts the first two Superman movies in a kind of "vague history".  It's not explicitly a sequel; it's really just a new Superman movie, but it doesn't tread over the first two Christopher Reeve movies or the show Smallville.

Because of that, the movie takes place in the present.  It's not a literal sequel to the Reeve movies, but it uses them as a quasi-background.
