Never thought of them writing new songs? and only pick a few (or 2/3 of a setlist) of classics which does match his "style"?

But the idea...no..maybe another Tribute..sure but not permanent...i'm just to anxious to see what can happen with his vision of this newformed GN'R

Yout thought is quite good.
I never thought of new songs!
I'm really tired.

2. Given Axl's relationship with Brian May and Axl's participation in the Freddie Mercury concert, is it possible that Queen did approach Axl before Paul Rodgers and he turned it down?

No, Queen did not approach Axl. The reason Paul Rodgers was singing for the band on the recent tour was because Brian May appeared with him at the Fender Strat 50th anniversary concert last year. They 'clicked' so well that they decided they should tour together, and that's when Queen drummer Roger Taylor was approached etc.

The remaining members of Queen aren't really a functioning band anymore. ?It's pretty obvious that Freddy had all the talent and the rest of the guys are just trying to screw the last few dimes out of their fans before they retire. ?They aren't dumb enough to get a singer who isn't going to show up for some dates and make them lose money.

As for Axl, he's still capable of making quality music, he doesn't need to waste his time with has beens.

With trying to stay as calm as possible here... you're VERY wrong. Freddie was indeed a very talented man, but so are the others... I suggest you check out the writing credits of some of their songs and see who wrote what - and I'll tell ya, it's pretty even across the board.

Yeah, Each member's got great musicianship.

Besides, according to my mum, the drummer was most popular of all.

I dont know whether Axl Rose would decide to agree such aproachment (if it happens) or not.. but Axl has issued that he wants to "evolve" remember that is why he fired Slash...  anyway axl is a controversial guy who doesnt have a single word.... (he said he wants to evolver the gnr sound) and he still played the old songs composed for the old members in his 2002 gnr tour... so.... lets wait and see...-

Axl could sing them all well,
The style ain't him.

I Agree !
Axl is a Queen fan and Brian May's friend... and he fits very well in some Queen songs, but the Freddy's main style was that fusion between rock and Opera and that's not Axl style... He fits in the most rocker songs of Queen, but that's it.

I only want to see/hear Axl with GnR(the current lineup/the old lineup, any combination thereof), or solo. If he were to join a group onstage(as he has done plenty of times), that would be great. But he sure as hell doesn't need too. ok

Wrong!, We all know Freddie was talented, but the whole band is also great too.
For instance You know a lot of Hits were written by John Deacon?? Example: Anotherone Bites the Dust, Spread Your Wings, You're my Best Friend, I want to Break, Friends will be friends (music by Freddie Mercury), Under Pressure (yep they credited the whole group but it was majorly written by Mr. Deacon). So don't think that BoRap, Killer Queen or We are the champs are the only Queen songs.  peace

It has already take too much damn long to have CD released (if it ever gets released) getting axl distracted on a tour would delay CD like 20 years. I love what they did in the Freddy Mercury tribute but Im not sure songs like Crazy little thing called love and play the game would sound great with axl's type of angry voice.

This is the dumbest idea ever! Lets take this morosis to an even higher level: Axl can learn to play drums, and talk Robert Plant,Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones into reuniting Led Zeppelin!! Or keep up with his guitar lessons and join Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Charlie Watts in an original Stones Reunion!!
