Hey, you caught me in a Coma...

« on: December 11, 2004, 10:45:31 PM »

I was feeling particularly bored earlier. So I decided to snoop around the Brides of Destruction forum. I'm a casual L.A. Guns fan, and wanted to see what Tracii Guns has been doing recently. It turns out that he posts on their message board. In one thread, he claims to have recently e-mailed Axl concerning GNR's guitarist position. Personally, I don't see Axl being interested. Guns is so associated with the '80s pop metal and all. But, with all the guitarist topics lately, I thought someone might find this interesting.

The post by Guns can be found here: http://www.bridesofdestruction.com/TalkShit/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=99930&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1

I think Axl should be interested. ?Instead of bringing a nobody into the band, which he more than likely is going to do, he can bring in someone who has been in Guns N Roses before. ?I dont know about you guys, but every thing I see about the "new" GNR in the magazines and on the t.v. makes fun of them. ?They are a laughing stock because of all the freaks Axl brought on like Buckethead and Robin. ?Robin is ok but Im really glad Buckethead is out. ?Bringing Tracii in would be awesome. ?If he does that he needs to drop either Richard Fortus or Robin and bring back Gilby. ?If he did that then this band would have the respect it deserves. ?Think about it, Axl, Dizzy, Tommy, Brain, Tracii and Gilby. ?Now those are some people who have been around and can play.

Yeah, but that would sound to much like the Gnr we know and love.  I mean lets face it, I think from all that slash has said, according to the split, that he wanted to do the regular gnr rock and roll music.  Axl felt it to easy to do a rock album and wanted a new sound or wanted to take more directions in music and not just the blues based rock.  I think when slash showed his distaste toward axl's new direction, axl wanted slash out of the picture. Because lets face it axl wanted to run the show, after all he had the name.

Which brings me to what I was wanting to say.  Axl I dont think wants the old gnr sound, and thats what it would be if you brought tracii and gilby back in.  And if he brought them in he would probably just give slash a call, and every one would be happy because gnr's back and every sinners happy because hell just froze over.

So that will never happen.  It seems to me he is trying to get a variety of technical players from all walks of life to come together, and make this incredible wall of sound.  And I cant wait to hear what it sounds like dammit......

1st, this new band has mine n' alot other's respect n' i think you'r being pretty judge mental mate, Richard himself shit's on both Gilby n' Tracii, dont get me wrong, im a fan of both of em', but it's clear your judgin' from appearance n' looks n' not on there playing!!

2nd, the new guy's have been in the scene just as long as those two, just accept it mate, there's a freak in you'r favourite band GNR n' there's nothin' you can do about!!! ok

But back on topic, i would welcome Tracii Guns with open arms to GNR, he's got what it take's!!!! beer

« Reply #7 on: December 12, 2004, 02:52:15 AM »

Considering that Axl views the internet as "one big garbage can", if i remember correctly, e-mail may not be the best way to reach him  no Besides that, I think it would be cool if Guns rejoined. I wouldn't hold my breath though.

reasons why Tracii Is GOOD for GNR.

1/He is one of those rare people who has never really bashed Axl, and months ago he talked about how he would like to eat a sandwich and a coke with axl.
1/ the name, he was the first ever gnr guitarist, Tracii GUNS N'? Axl ROSE'S band.
2/He is a shredder,? he can shred and has a style,
3/He looks like a rocker?

Somebody said Tracii was too associated with 80s pop metal...well...so is AXL? hihi
+it's not like Tracii was in poison or something ! LA GUNS is badass.

Rip n' Tear ! peace

"I sent Axl and email. I let him know I had a year off and That I would be willing to go kick some ass with him. I got no reply? Sad

Thanx For The support from the GnR fan forum

I think it would be really cool if Tracii Guns rejoined GN'R. LA Guns was an awesome band. And Tracii is someone who is really cool to the fans. He may not be Eddie Van Halen or Hendrix, but he has always come up with good riffs throughout the years.

Am i the only one who thinks that the idea of Tracii Guns in nuGNR is frightening?
Get serious people! Axl let slash walk away cause he wanted to explore new musical directions-do u really think that he can do that with Tracii Guns?

Maybe Axl should also fire Brain and get Tommy Lee to play some drums upside down rofl

guys the 80's are over. Stop living in the past. we are 20 years later now. Everything has changed.  and didn't  tracii guns say he doesn't like the new GN'R songs he heard? Tracii Guns will never have any answer from Axl.

I think it was Chris Webber or something who said he didn't like the new songs.
Some people have told me to stop living in the past and to stop waiting for the new gnr.
I see nothing wrong with Tracii, the only problem would be musical differences, Tracii is more of a hardrock punkish player and Axl is looking for a virtuoso like bumblefoot or buckethead.

I think the best way for tracii to get a hold of Axl would be face to face and  talk it out.

I think it would be a good idea as long as Tracii was willing to go in the same direction that Axl is going in.

I think it may help Axl in the eyes if the media as you know the media sees Axl as an unforgiving asshole . This would proove otherwise

I know Axl doesn't care what the media thinks and neither do I but thats just a few points
