Kanye West? what the.........

My thoughts more or less exactly. I guess I'll be seeing Kanye West live, and by seeing him live I mean getting wasted in a parking lot of a building Kanye West is playing in at the moment.

I've been raped by ticket brokers before, but you know I can't cry about it, pure capitalism, a system I willingly dive into. Fuck we here are fan(antic)s of a band that had a dope dealer guitarist, and used to steal from girl's purses as Axl fucked them.

Part of the blame lies w/ Ticketmaster who should revamp their often nonsensical ticket pricing system.

Anyone else going?

Front row Gunner, front row!  Cool

I can't believe I did so much better for the Stones than for GN'R.  no

Wish you could go man, you're like the only other Stones fan here.

The doors open at 5:30.  Kanye better not be there, I'd rather be getting buzzed in the parking lot.

Review by Mike Farragher
With some of the paint by numbers sets I viewed in Europe that made me yawn and the less than stellar performance I witnessed in Baltimore over the winter on the eve of their Superbowl show, I entered this stadium with very low expectations on my 3rd show this tour/31st overall. Have the Stones ever opened with ?Paint It Black?? They did tonight!!

Who could imagine a set list this good? ?Sway? and ?Sweet Virginia back-to-back was a thrill. Mick was in amazing voice; the break did him good! The boys light the stage on fire with ?Midnight Rambler.? ?Under My Thumb,? as they say in Boston, was a ?wicked pissah.? Amazing! ?Streets of Love,? a song you wouldn?t think would translate well in a stadium, became a crowd pleasing sing-song and one of the night?s highlights.

?Rough Justice sounded great when I saw it in Philly and Baltimore, but it was flubbed on the B-stage. ?Ain?t Too Proud to Beg!? Never heard that one in 25 years of shows! Keith sounded amazing on ?You Got the Silver,? though he relied pretty heavily on the teleprompter. ?Give a hand for the band, they really worked hard on that one,? he said. He had a great rapport with the crowd, who cheered loudly for him. ?I had a rough year. I needed that.? The place went wild. Back to the teleprompter for ?Little T&A.? It was as if a skeleton was doing some Keith karaoke in a Boston bar! It?s been over a decade since I heard T&A live and Keef nailed it! Definitely a top-10 show of all time. Long live the Rolling Stones!!!!

The show I was at. I was freaking the fuck out getting Monkey Man and Sway back to back. Also it was great to get Under My Thumb instead of Miss You (love it but I've heard it enough) as the song for the transition to the B-stage. Great Keith songs too after a couple questionable choices earlier in the tour.

I was at this show!!!!!? ?i know none of you care!!!!? lol.? ?im going to give you my review, whether you like it or not.
im still flying high after seeing these guys, and its been five days since the show.

here it goes, the last time the Stones came to Louisville KY or KY for the matter, was 1989.? 1989, what the fuck?? have the Stones bought into what people say about KY people?? that we are stupid and shit.? i fuckin hate how people almost demonize this state.? why these guys havent been here since 1989 is beyond me.? so, the Stones, a legendary band....and Churchill Downs, a legendary if not the most legendary horse track in the world.? fucking historic.? ?the sad thing is Churchill just was not ready for this show.? close to 50,000 people were at this show, which is how many tickets were sold.? far more come to the KY Derby.? the difference is, on Derby Day the gates are opened very early.? therefor it dosent get as crazy.? the gate opened for the Stones at 4:30.? i got there around 5:30 and it was already crazy.? people everywhere, which of course is to be expected to a certain degree.? but i waited damn near 35 minutes to get to my seat in a line that just seemed to get longer and longer, even as it moved foward.? Churchill Downs just isnt built nor prepared for that many people coming in at the same time.? unlike arenas there arent alot of entrances into the actual venue.? and there arent as many entrances to the seating areas.? and also there were alot of seats on the dirt track and in front of the stage which arent there on Derby Day or any other day.

when I eventually got at the top of this ramp (in this insanly long line where people were literally breathing down your neck and shoving and pushing and all that shit) i felt a sigh of relief, i could finally breath again, i was outdoors.? holy shit i saw the huge stage on the infield.? three stories tall.? i couldnt believe how big this stage was.? eventually i got to my seat, which was on the dirt track.? far, far, far away. hihi? ? i felt a few drops of rain hit my head.? of course the weather man said it wasnt supposed to rain.....believe me, i checked.? Alice Cooper opened up, and of course he fuckin rocked.? but as his show went on the rain started to pick up. by the time he was finished a steady rain shower was falling on Churchill.? and it didnt stop, even when the Stones went on, opening with Jumpin Jack Flash.? eventually as the Stones show went on it did quit.?

but....at that moment, when the lights went down and The Stones started.......nothing even mattered.? forget the rain, forget the people who were losing their tempers in the long lines.? nothing mattered anymore.? one of the most surreal moments i have ever been apart of.? one of the biggest chills i have ever gotten, was during Dead Flowers.? there is a line in that song, "Making Bets On Kentucky Derby Day."? when Mick sang that line...the loudest fucking pop you could ever hear in your life erupted.? i know that it had to take everything Mick had not to smile, or laugh or just not mess up the song.? that pop was felt by all of The Stones members, and everyone at that race track.? it went through everyone, and at that moment i felt like close to 50,000 people became one.? unreal.? unreal.?

in their 60's they havent lost anything.? they put on a better show than all of the newer bands could ever hope to play.? i would have loved to have heard Gimme Shelter, or Angie OR....OR the very fitting Wild Horses.? why they didnt play that at Churchill Downs i dont know.? but im not complaining about what i didnt hear.? im not complaining at all.? one of the greatest shows i have ever been to despite Churchill not being set up properly.?

where i was sitting, Mick and the boys were two inches tall.? i paid $100.00 for that ticket.? was it worth it?Huh? it rained ( i got a small cold because of it), peoples tempers flared up, people got separated from their groups.? including a poor six or seven year old little girl i saw.? luckily a Churchill employee was with her and im sure she found her family.? ?very very very long lines everywhere......would i do it again.? ? FUCK YEAH I WOULD!!!!!!!!! beer beer beer peace

Good review Bob!  I paid 100 dollars for my ticket as well.

What's with the B-stage?  What's it like?

And the Derby has more people because people sit in the infield as well.  Wink

damn i forgot about all the people on the infield during the derby hihi? i only watch the derby every year, i think im losing it. Grin? ? the B stage is cool as hell.? there is this platform on the stage, and of course it just looks like part of the stage itself.? ?the drumset is already fit/screwed down onto it.? when they get ready to do the songs on the B stage Ron, Mick and Keith all get on this platform and it moves foward out into the crowd.? it seemed like at Churchill it went really far into the crowd.? cool as shit ok peace beer
