I wanna be Slash

« on: July 06, 2004, 07:18:59 AM »

Say by a act of god both Velvet Revolver and Guns n Roses were both playing a concert in your town and both shows started at the same time. Who would you go see? Me I love slash and duff but im not really crazy about contraband  Ilike it more and more every time I hear it but its not the same without the greatest lead man of all time singing I would go to the GNR show. There is only one singer/frontman/god/icon that should be on the contraband album and that is W. Axl. Rose. I like scott but his voice does not go with the bands sound he is a great frontman also but what ever. LONG LIVE GNR AXL,SLASH,DUFF,IZZY,AND STEVEN. By the way the BTM was kick ass made me cry seeing the boys kicking ass.

i'd always choose axl over those other fellas. tho i was sad when i couldn't see VR in boston, i would've been heartbroken if i'd missed GNR. it comes down to 'who do i want to hear sing its so easy' tonight.

I'd go to VR first, then around 11pm when Axl takes the stage, I'd head over to GNR.

I'd plan accordingly and catch both bands.  Everyone knows Axl goes on late so you'd be able to see at least, the first set of VR then the whole GNR show smoking

That would be a tough call.........

I saw the old lineup's a few times (Great woods 1988, Worcester 1991, Foxboro 1992, Boston Garden 1993)

I saw NuGnR at the Fleet Center in Boston

But I missed VR in May due to my Brothers Wedding. Since I've seen NuGnR I would probably say now, that I would see VR........ but I can say that comfortably becuase NuGnR isn't touring and doesn't show any signs of ouring in the future.....plus the last time I saw Slash, Snakepit was opening up for AC/DC at the Fleet Center.

VR
...although the poster who said he\she would do both has a good idea because Axl's gonna take his sweet ass time getting to the stage anyway...

Guns N' Roses for sure, I haven't seen one before, cz last time they came to Vancouver im sure you all know what happened, but if they tour again he better show up or ill be choked, actually I'll probly just try to catch the concert in Washington if he no shows, meh, either way.  But yeah I think whats most important to a band is the frontman and Axl is still in Guns, so that's where I am.

Yeah I do love Axl , i think it would depend on the seats for me. I seen VR in the theatre and was 5 feet from slash at most. If I could be that close to Axl and nuGNR I would go, but If I had to sit way up in a balcony somewhere I would see VR.

you know slash is cool as fuck and i love duff....but the fact that matt i suck balls for pleasure sorrum is part of that group really makes things pretty clear abotu what i would do......i told my mother that i would kill her if it meant having the chance to see O Holy rOCK gOD himself W.Axl Rose....sorry ...i bought contraband the first day it came out.....and i love slash to death but not even his magical guitar playing ability could have saved that record....

This subject was raised by Tyrod Tulip in a thread on the VR section.

My answer was that I'd see Velvet Revolver, because they are a reliable band, and Axl isn't.  I don't care if Axl released the greatest album of all time, I will not pay for him subject me to his erratic, tempermental behavior.

And NO, Younggunner, I am NOT a fucking "little girl".  In fact, that's exactly why I wouldn't see Axl, because I'm past all his "little girl" temper tantrums.

Speaking of Younggunner, he said something about how going to see Axl would be better because you'd see hot girls on the screen.  Yes Younggunner, we all know that's the ONLY place we can see hot girls!   Tongue  Shit, I was sitting beside two gorgeous blondes at a Madonna concert.  I know younggunner likes blondes too.  Or should I say, younggunner lieks blondes.     hihi

I thought VR were a "dangerous" rock n' roll band without any pianos?  hihi

BTW, VR let fans wait while they watched a Lakers game in Los Angeles. I guess that's what reliable bands do.....  Tongue

None of these bands will play anywhere close to me so I don't know....

I'd rather go see GNR even if I knew for sure they'd cancel.
