Id say they will play all of (Contra)Band and Its So Easy (which they played at El Ray and was written by Duff) and Mr. Brownstone (which Snakepit 2000 played live and was written by Izzy). I doubt they will play more than 2 Gn'R songs and i doubt they would play anything written by Axl - mabye Paradise City as Camp Freddy have done it before, but even that was only co-written by Axl.

I think it's obvious that VR will play some GN'R stuff. I'm almost 100 percent sure that they'll play It's So Easy and MR. Brownstone. But what about the other GN'R songs? They'll surely not play a lot GN'R tunes, because they are VR and not a nostalgia band. They won't play Axl songs and very Izzy related songs.

I think it'll be great if they play sometimes Nightrain, You're Crazy, Perfect Crime. But there is only a little chance to play these songs, and the others...well, I think there is no chance to hear them.

I know it's not a wishlist, but some Snakepit songs would be welcomed (at least by me), mostly Neither Can I and Beggars and Hangers.

Id like to see a rotation of:

"Nightrain"
"Mr. Brownstone"
"You Could Be Mine"
"Rocket Queen"
maybe "Paradise City"

Mr. Brownstone would fit Scott's vocals very well. Other than that, Bad Obsession would be awesome to hear them play too.

I prefer they play some of the under-appreciated songs instead of the well-known hits... (hey, it'll help sales of the back catalogue).

--  Dust N' Bones     -  Great song, Scott could sing it well.
--  Double Talkin Jive    -  He should dedicate it to a guy we all know & love  hihi
--  Mr Brownstone  - sure, why not.  (And any other cool Izzy songs).

I wouldnt mind hearing some STP songs live as I've never heard them that way before.

Locomotive

Not going to happen...its one GNRs least recognized songs, its long, and its more of an "Axl song".  Same goes for "Coma".  Theyre most likely going to cover the more rocking, recognizable AFD songs, so even "Rocket Queen" is a stretch.

Theyll probably just go with "Nightrain," "Its So Easy," and "Mr. Brownstone," with a possibility of "Paradise City" (One minute Slash says its too personal, the next hes playing it with Cypress Hill - so who knows?).  Though Im praying for "You Could Be Mine" more than anything. yes

I do like this song, and I love the video.

I think it would be really cool if Guvnor Arnie attended one of the LA concerts, and they play YCBM.   Cheesy

I'm wondering how Scott would pull off the ending though... it's signature Axl the way he screams and rants the last few lyrics.

I'm of two minds about the whole thing.  I want to see Guns song be played and enjoyed by a wide audience, but it's kind of bittersweet at the same time.

It's so Easy
Brownstone
Paradise City

I can see them doing those three and only those three because they are not too vocally challenging(Paradise City is a little bit, but as been said slash has had plenty of different people singing it when they play), and they are songs everyone knows and enjoys. It will be a little weird hearing Scott sing them, but the actual music will sound much more like Guns used to than Axl's band. That is kind of the trade off of this situation. You get the proper background music minus the original singer, and you have the original singer with a band who doesn't play all of the songs correctly(Insert Axl-Zeaolt comment about the New band playing the songs better than the old band even though they wrote them). That is just the nature of the beast being a GNR/VR fan. Regardless, I can't wait to see Slash solo in person.....man those places will be electric when they're playing ok beer drool  hihi

LOL... I was just thinking that earlier today... if they are going to be playing GN'R tunes at the show I go to, I'd definitely like one to be You Could Be Mine.

On the STP side, I'd like to hear Crackerman.

Hes obviously not going to sing the song exactly the same...instead, Im guessing hell either yell the lyrics (rather than Axls screeching) or go the opposite direction and growl them.  Either way it will probably sound great.  His range is actually better than many think.

Well, they did a good job of "It's So Easy" at the charity concert last year, so I'm sure that'll be on the setlist.  I think they'll only end up doing three or four songs each from GNR and STP.  I would suggest, in addition to "It's So Easy," "Mr. Brownstone" (Scott could really relate to this one, and he'd sound good singing it), "You Could Be Mine" (Matt and Duff really clicked on this one - the opening drum solo is classic), and "November Rain."  Yes, I said "November Rain."  Just to hear Slash playing that again would be worth the price of admission alone, and I think Scott could handle the vocals.  Just imagine how pissed Axl would be about that!  I doubt they'll do it, though.  Okay, I know, stupid suggestion, but a man can dream, can't he?  Scott's style is so different from Axl's, though, so it's not very likely we're going to hear much GNR at any given Velvet Revolver show.  I can't picture Weiland singing "Paradise City."  They'll surprise us with something, though I wouldn't go expecting any deep album tracks like "Bad Obsession," "Coma," or "Locomotive."

As for STP, I think Slash could really sink his teeth into "Vaseline."  Maybe "Interstate Love Song."  "Sex Type Thing" is a go, since they did a killer version of that last year.  "Wicked Garden" would be another good pick.  Any one of those songs would sound better than they ever have with VR.  Hell, maybe they'll throw in a Suicidal Tenedencies song for good measure.  For some reason, I could see them doing "Asleep at the Wheel."  I'm not holding my breath on that one, though.

It cant be one of those super GNR songs or really anyting from Greatest Hits.  Those songs are to much connected to the original GNR.  For exaple.  They couldn't play Paradise City, SCOM, WTTJ, November Rain, or Estranged.  Those songs are too much of a gnr trademark type song.  I want to hear them play, Mr. Brownstone, Nightrain, Don't Cry, or You Could Be Mine.  That would be sweet. I really liked their "cover" of Its So Easy.  Scott did a good job hitting the notes and making it sound good.
