DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED Splits With CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS, Seeks New Label Home - Feb. 1, 2010

DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED, the band led by VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan, has parted ways with Century Media Records after releasing one EP (2008's "Wasted Heart") and one full-length album (2009's "Sick") through the label. According to the group, "We have been writing [new material] and it's is going fantastic. We have a shitload of songs demoed and now we are just looking for a lovely place for these songs to call home!"

"The addition of Isaac Carpenter [LOUDERMILK, GOSLING, OURS, THE EXIES] on drums has taken us to some amazing places and we can't wait for you all to hear them... soon!"

DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED's next live performance will take place on February 26 at the D&R Theatre in Aberdeen, Washington.

Carpenter joined DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED as the replacement for Geoff Reading, who left the band last year.

"Sick" sold around 1,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 43 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Sick" was released in North America on April 7,2009 via Century Media Records. An e-card for the CD, which was produced by Martin Feveyear (PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, KINGS OF LEON), is available at this location.

In addition to McKagan and Carpenter, LOADED features bassist Jeff Rouse (VENDETTA RED, ALIEN CRIME SYNDICATE) and guitarist Mike Squires (ALIEN CRIME SYNDICATE).

LOADED released "Live Episode" (1999) and "Dark Days" (2001), before other commitments meant LOADED were put on the back burner to some extent, although they never split up.

DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED's five-song EP, "Wasted Heart", was released in September 2008 via Century Media Records.

I noticed on Loaded's MySpace page that they list their label as Century Media.  But if you go on Century Media's site, it lists Loaded as "alumni" not on their "current roster."

I hope they find a new home...so they can release another CD.

I'd rather have him do solo or put some effort in searching a new singer for VR. Last Loaded album was very dull.

It doesn't sound like that is going to happen.  He's said in interviews that he does Loaded for fun and Velvet Revolver is where he makes his money.  He really seems to enjoy playing with Loaded.

And this from a source close to the band on the spit "[Loaded] has parted ways with Century Media Records on amicable terms. But it is the best course of action for everyone."

I'm a big Duff fan - so I'm not hatin' - but isn't that all just a nice way of saying: "Loaded has been dropped by their record label."?

I don't think they would admit to being dropped from their label.  They were having a hard time funding the tour at the end, so who knows.

In this video Michael Monroe says that he would like to tour with Loaded.

I hope Michael gets some sort of success with his new band, the poor guy has been "a day late, a dollar short" his whole career.

DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED Continuing Work On New Material - Mar. 30, 2010

DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED, the band led by VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES bassist Duff McKagan, has issued the following update:

"We are still ass deep in writing songs for the next record. We have a ton of stuff and more just keeps pouring out. Like we have said before, we can't wait for all of you to hear it. More so, we can't wait to rock, sweat and laugh with all of you soon! Along with with writing new songs, we here in LOADED don't fuck around! Whether it's writing much-anticipated novels, playing music or just hanging with Mickey Mouse, none of us are just sitting around getting massages and eating grapes? I guess you just never know when and where one of us is gonna pop up?"
DUFF MCKAGAN'S LOADED recently parted ways with Century Media Records after releasing one EP (2008's "Wasted Heart") and one full-length album (2009's "Sick") through the label.
