I would like to apologize to you all about something I mislead you on. I was really hoping that someone would try and correct me. Sources say that Poland's population was 36 million in 1939, including 3 million Jews, and was reduced to 24 million in 1946, immediately after the war.

Now if I do some calculations 36 - 24 = 12.
12 million people went missing.

Some Poles found themselves in neighbouring countries......but many perished.

Very few people outside of Poland , other than history buffs or academic types would know the significance of the Katyn forest or the Warsaw Ghetto , however I think everyone recconises the brave struggle and horrible sacrifices the Polish people made in that terrible time .
