I know this threat probably won't last but I thought this was pretty cool. There is a song that I love by The Replacements and for those of you that don't know it's Tommy's old band. Well if you change every she in this song to he this song could easily be dedicated to Axl, not literally of course but use your imagination. The last two lines remind me of Axl saying he can't take a cab without someone recognizing him think about it.

Well she's kind of like an artist
Sittin' on the floor
Never finishes, she abandons
Never shows a soul

And she's kind of like a movie
Everyone rushes to see
And no one understands it
Sittin' in their seats

She opens her mouth to speak and
What comes out's a mystery
Thought about, not understood
She's achin' to be

Well she dances alone in nightclubs
Every other day of the week
People look right through her
Baby doll, check your cheek

And she's kind of like a poet
Who finds it hard to speak
Poems come so slowly
Like the colors down a sheet

She opens her mouth to speak and
What comes out's a mystery
Thought about, not understood
She's achin' to be

I've been achin' for a while now, friend
I've been achin' hard for years

Well she's kind of like an artist
Who uses paints no more
You never show me what you're doing
Never show a soul

Well, I saw one of your pictures
There was nothin' that I could see
If no one's on your canvas
Well, I'm achin' to be

She closes her mouth to speak and
Closes her eyes to see
Thought about an' only loved
She's achin' to be
Just like me

Some parts work, some parts don't, but I still think it's a bit of a stretch.  To each his own, though...

The song is "Achin To Be" and I dont see it.

How about a song Tommy wrote while in GnR? I always thought some parts of "Someday" were referencing his time in GnR. I could be totally off the mark though.

You've got a close eye on the world outside
From the inside of your cage
You're staring through the cracks in the drapes for a key
With a midget on your back goin blind and mean
How much could you ask for
How much would you ask for

Something of use will come
Of these worn out shoes
Something of use will come
Of these painful dues

The bastard's wearing the dresses now
He bitches no one calls him by his name
My baby she's got the blues
Another rapist grows into his running shoes
How much could you ask for
How much would you ask for

Dear god can't you just leave me alone
Said the martyr to the thief
There's not enough room in this reflection for two
And now one of us is gonna have to leave in peace
Someday something of use will come
Of these dried up tears
Something of use will come
Of the blood and the blues if we waste another year
It's always someday

You lift yourself from the gutter to the grave
They'll fax you your last rights
Well maybe I said everything is all right
Well they're just not unbearable

Yet how much would you
Ask for how much could you ask for
Someday something of use will come
Of these lives that we choose
Someday something of use will come
Of the blood and the blues of this wasted youth
Something of use will come.
