I recall only one AC/DC song (can't remember which one) and one Rage Against the Machine Song...I guess I wasn't paying too much attention.

Psychologically, you could consider this a reunion tour because I`ve managed to find enough pieces of my mind in order to be with you here tonight - - Axl Rose, Chicago 2002

I forgot this one: Grin

They played Deep Purple - Hush

And, this woman who was completely stoned out of her gourd did some strange combination of yoga/belly dancing during the early part of the song.

During the rest of the song, when the band says "Hush...hush" she would press her index finger to her lips in a typical "shhhh!" kind of way.  Then, she ripped her Super Pretzel in half, in a sultry fashion.  One half was quickly shoved into her back pants pocket (Mmmmm!), while the other half played the dual role of fake microphone and twirly baton.  All of this occurred while those seated in my section grew more and more amused with her antics, shouting things like "You eat that pretzel.  Eat it you dirty girl!"

Hysterical.  If this story is ABOUT any HTGTH board members...well...sorry for having told your story.

That is hilarious! Now that's the kind of stuff I love to hear about these shows - the people - they always seem to make everything more interesting.

But, do the bands playing actually pick the music they play before they go on or does the venue? I always thought it was the venue. If it's a rock band, they play heavy metal, if it's a hip-hop or r&b they play dance music. At least that's what I can remember from attending various shows from all different genres of music.

Also wonder what Axl listens to in order to pump himself up for the shows?

I don't know if they always pick it or not.  At a Bob Seger show, they played Thin Lizzy - The Boys are Back in Town right before they came on.  Then, after a brief intermission, they played what I think was a cover version of the same song right before they returned to stage.  They seem to avoid music that is totally unrelated to what the fans might enjoy.

I may have overlooked this but, at Ames they played Johnny Cash - When The Man Comes Around I believe. It was at the end of the night. It was kinda cool cause that at the end reminded me of like a movie ending to a kick ass night.

i haven't seen this one mentioned, but i know it was played at the warfield in SF because i remember when it started, trying like heck to figure out where i knew it from, and then when i realized, i thought "wow, that song's a lot better than i remember it being!"
