What ever will happen will either happen while on tour...day off from tour...press released by public relations or Axl himself will mention it somewhere.

In the meanwhile..I do hope the set list will be vastly differ for the NY NJ market shows..CITR would be a great change in the setlist. Heck even Right Next Door to Hell would be a surprise too.

I dunno.? Yeah, I guess making an announcement at a show wouldn't be the best idea, but I just think that in some way the MSG show won't be a regular "same old setlist" show.

They said the same in 2002. And when nothing happened that night, Philly was supposed to be the big turning point.  Oh boy, was it ever.

good point...
but don't you think this time is a little different?  this year has been a big year for them...and axl knows he can't pull stuff like what happened in philly at this stage in the game...

i still agree though that there won't be any announcements at msg.

The four Hammerstein concerts in NYC, the first shows GN'R played this year, were widely considered incredible shows, not only by us on the message boards, but even Axl Rose himself.

MSG is the most famous arena in the world.  The GN'R show there, which happens to be sold out, is on November 10, and still gives plenty of time for promotion.

I don't know, it's just my opinion.  What do you guys think?

Only time will tell and we are all just guessing here...but you may be on to something.  Just my gut feel.

I think New Yorkers think too much of themselves.

We do! hihi

Just kidding! Grin

But I really don't think anything special will happen at this show besides it being a packed house full of GNR fans ready to rock!!!!

I also don't think an announcement will be made. But I think it would be a huge mistake not to have this be the break out show on the tour.  Meaning the show to introduce alot of new stuff.

well i realydoubt in album this year
i realy don't want to be a "bad guy" here, this is just my opinion, also i very like this new band, but it's never happened that band have gone on the tour before album

also i saw this new band once, and this was the best music expirience in my life
i like new guys a lot,but i think that Axl still have dilema new guys against reunion
he knows,if he give us new album reunion isn't posible
i think it's the reason of his waiting(i think that)

also i don't like to see reunion, because i think new guys are better musicans than old,but everything is posible...
also gefen records will have album on list one month before realising

but whocares,i want to see some show like rar

I am with bandita, its jsut gonna be a packed house, and a great day hanging out, and just saying Fuck you, to the world. I refuse to say anything, cause it bit me in the ass in 2002,I said I thought THat GNR at MSg then would be a turning point, how wrong I wish I was!!! So fuck expectations or  anything. And forgive my tpyping  it sucks right now, have a day off and getting to watch foot ball!

if there was any show he would do it at , it would be MSG....i mean it is the biggest show of the tour, NYC and everything, but i still dont expect it....I am willing to bet everything on them just putting it out in the stores no promotion whatsoever...now of course we will all know about a week or so in advance because it will get out, then it will be on mtv.com, then rollingstone.com, so it will hardly be a surprise...but at this point, with like no time left between now and the end of the year..what other options do they have....

I was just looking at the schedule and they have a day off before this show and 2 days afterwards.  Is it possible that it could be for promotion while in New York?

At this point, anything is possible...Now, discerning between possible and likely is another matter altogether.

« Reply #54 on: October 29, 2006, 10:47:34 PM »

i don't expect any announcement at any show.. if he decides to whatever... but i think it's more likely for the cd to just be put on shelves with no promotion prior to release (not an idea i agree with.. but you never know) and then as they tour start promoting the shit out of with constant touring and a singles.... i mean.... back w/ AFD, they released a single, then another, then re-release the single... and they were legen rock stars within 3-4 years... I think the latter is more likely to happen... i'm just glad he's out of the studio/his house and touring..
