Yeah, really.  I love Axl and all, but I don't know if he ever sounded better than Bach.  And now he definitely doesn't.

Agree with you Rob Bruce voice sounds way better than Axl because Axl didn't take care his voice as Bruce did, specially the smoking and the drinking thats why Paul Dianno was thrown from Iron Maiden in the first place I think.

Yeah, Bruce definitely has taken much better care of himself over the years.  Actually with Dianno, I think he left cause he didn't want to do it anymore.  I think it was kinda similar to the way Izzy left Guns.  Maiden were about to get big and he wasn't ready for it.

Just listening to the VMAs 2002 and his voice sounds different for jungle and IMO doesnt do the song justice. But madagascar(SP) he sounds good, i know that madagascar is a different type of song to jungle. The way his voice is now(unless its improved since 02) more suited to ballads like november rain, estranged. And can still sing them reasonably well.

Note: im not basing this on just the performance mentioned above. I have heard other performances from the 02 tour.
