Some of these assholes have gone as far as listing the home address of this family; no less, from the same group that was calling Moveon's portrayal of Petraeus as treasonous ... hypocricy at it's finest.

It's a typical right wing smear job, to the max, without a bottom. I'm sure they'll be getting physical threats over the phone next.

Ironically after all the hoopla the portrayal of Petraues was dead on correct. He had become a sock puppet for Dubyah........repeating the exact same thing Bush had said in previous speeches. It was practically a clip n paste job, and he deserved the harsh criticism.

Harassing a family is a real class act though, gotta hand it to them in the sleaze department.

disgusting or disappointing?  Disappointing implies some level of surprise and shock.  this kind of attack on a 12 year old and his family from right wing d-bags doesn't surprise me at all.

Both, really.  But mostly disappointment to find that this wasn't just done by the talking head a-holes like Coulter and Limbaugh, but by the office of the Senate Minority Leader.  I'm disgusted with him, personally, and very disappointed, in general.  It's sad.  That kid probably believes in this government.

I thought they made only 45K?  But, yeah, $62K is quite difficult to live on in NY for a family of 4.  $24,000 a year in rent, about $20,000 for taxes, and $12,000 a year for private health insurance.  Leaves $6K a year for food.  Good luck feeding 4 people with only $16 a day in NY.  And hope your kids don't hate you for making them wear hand-me-downs.

not to get into a "who smears more" discussion - but don't you think the attack on this family was WAY over the top?  What has the left done recently to even come close to this?  i'm not trying to start a fight, just really curious what you think and to ask if "the left" has done anything remotely similar...

i don't know where he lived, but his family is doing well. and apparently he is doing well. seems like the system worked...he was covered by SCHIP!

the debate is NOT about whether to renew the program, it's whether the program should be expanded to the middle class. alot of people feel $50K to $83K is not "low income". and many are against universal healthcare and clearly this would be a giant leap in that direction.

so while the democrats used a 12-year-old to make a point, they were in effect highlighting that the current system works. they should have found a child who is NOT currently covered by the plan but would be under the proposed expansion of the plan. but i guess using a child whose parents make $90K wouldn't generate much sympathy.
