Got an e-mail from my cigarette company:

Can't make it to Miami for the Speakeasy Tour grand finale? Then we'll bring the party to you. Experience the live action exclusively at camelsmokes.com on December 11, 2004, and watch all of the decadence unfold online.

Before you can watch the live party in Miami, you need to RSVP. Once you RSVP, we'll email you an access code and instructions on what to do on the night of the event. To ensure that you get this access code and instructions, we need to have your correct email address.

Your going to have to register for that site. This where they send me:

http://www.smokerswelcome.com/CAM/dtclogin.jsp?brand=CAM&redirect=/CAM/home.jsp?popup=miami_home

Not sure if you can register from outside the US

VR works together with a cigarette company?

How "dangerous", "unpredictable" and most of all, stupid.

Thanks for the info cin.

Yeah well, to me it does if it's true.

Considering their fan base is made out of many teenagers, I find it stupid.

I understand the idea with cigs n minors but they are adults so they are using a legal business.. I know vr has tried to make their shows in that states fdor older crowds, there was a age you had to be above to see them..

I guess I look at it as someone older who wasn't just influenced by things like this.. Let's admit this jarmo, afterall tehy are a rock n roll band and they're all (except dave) ex druggies...

Even in gnr's hey day they were making drinking n drugging seem cool, but not everyone fell to pieces so to say..

I'm sure they could use another market, but tehy're adults and have chosen this which is not illegal.

And how often is slash without a smoke...

He also performs with a smoke dangling out of his mouth a lot. Teenagers go to the shows, too

Yeah, but Slash isn't telling kids to go to some cigarette company's web site to watch their show.

I disagree with you: it's dangerous, but unpredictable and stupid. I don't like this cigarette company commercial. When Marlboro wanted Slash and Duff for a ommercial, they said no. Why didn't they do the same now?  Huh Undecided

Well you know the guys have and have had some bad habits.  It's your choice who and what you let influence what you do.  You only got yourself to blame.

But for you people who really object to the cigarette company, go ahead watch the show and don't buy their product.  Consider it a pay back for all that second hand smoke and thank the band for finding someone to sponsor a free on line show for you.

Sorry to say though, your going to have to bring your own alcohol cause your not seeing a show sponsored by a alcohol company.

Didnt everyone in VR already smoke? I dont think having a show on Camels members area is going to encourage any teenagers. Cigarettes are a slow death..just like eating any high calorie foods for 50 years.

who cares as long as people get to see the show? don't think the kids will care what web site it's on.

Slash should stop smoking before it's too late though!

This is nothing new...Its not much different than Slash endorsing Black Death Vodka.  Or GNR writing "Nightrain."  Lets remember who were dealing with here; the guys from VR/GNR arent necessarily going to cater to children.

And I think its terribly naieve to think this is really going to have an adverse effect on children or teenagers.  Slashs own cigarette use is actually much more likely to encourage a kid to smoke, but thats just the way it is, and its the way it always has been.

Well, everyone knows they are not role models for clean living.  What they want to do/write about personally is their right, but actually "getting in bed" with the cigarette company and working with them is kind of crappy imo.  Bad decision.
