The Dead Daisies could be bound for bigger stages, if they can keep their line-up together - according to Gary Cruden.

For many in the crowd at Glasgow's Cathouse it may have been a curiosity in the rockstar studded line-up that had brought them to see The Dead Daisies ? but within 30 seconds of them hitting the stage it had evaporated.

As the power-packed six-piece - boasting Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus, former Motley Crue vocalist John Corabi, former Whitesnake, Foreigner, Billy Idol and Ozzy Osbourne drummer Brian Tichy, former Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy and Black Star Riders bassist Marco Mendoza and former Guns N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed - broke into their version of Midnight Moses they instantly made their own mark on the sell-out crowd.

The Daisies have been a changing picture since David Lowy founded the band ? musicians including singer Jon Stevens, bassist Darryl Jones and John Tempesta have all pasted through the ranks.

But the current line-up is perhaps the best and will hopefully be more permanent as the band prepares to head back to the studio early next year.

Charismatic Corabi, Mendoza and Fortus ? who might as well have been in front of a sold-out arena with GNR given his bounding enthusiasm and energy ? led from the front and drew the crowd in early on.

The set was heavily laiden with songs from the bands latest album Revolucion, as well as a selection of covers ? including Free's All Right Now and Aerosmith's Sick as a Dog - but largely ignored their first release except for the inclusion of Lock N' Load.

Although it would have perhaps been better to include more of the Daisies earlier work ? despite the vastly changed line-up ? the band, who have clearly gelled since being put together put in a blistering performance.

Based on this show it won't be long before the Daisies are selling out bigger venues and climbing their way up festivals bills ? if the line-up can be held together that is.

If their ambition level goes up a notch, could this pose a problem for Richard in Guns N Roses you guys think?

I trust the Record is living down to its reputation for accuracy when it calls Dizzy the former Guns N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed ?
