How was this murder?

This was obviously two people utterly unaware of the harm they were doing but with no viscious intent. They obviously suffer some learning difficulties - why are they going to prison? A lifetime in a psych ward would be better

I don't know that this was truly murder, as much as stupidity and possibly manslaughter.  I don't know that they need to be kept in prison for life.  The woman should have the following sentence: Prison until menopause.  That should prevent a recurrence. 

The thing that screams GUILTY! more than anything else is that the baby's first doctor's visit was a D.O.A. due to starvation.  Quality parenting! 

I do so truly hate how parents try to pass on a moral position to their babies, who can't possibly understand it.  But, if your moral position leads to your children dying...well, that's how natural selection is supposed to work.

some people are too dumb to exist in our society...these parents are a perfect example of that....lock them up.....life sentence is ridiculous though....lock them up for a few years.....
