they jsut want axl and slash back together....i dont think its the same thing but i know waht you mean...besides if we travel down that path it'll turn to Slash Vs Robin then you know where that leads hihi We've seen that debate way to many times rofl

I think its the same thing...? ?yea you can say they just want him back with Axl, but the majority of them blame axl for anything and everything that went wrong in the original band and don't even respect the fact that the guys they are whining for to come back, are seemingly happy doing what they are doing now.? ? ?Its just a slap in the face to Axl and to the rest of the band, who are doing their thing now and it looks like we may finally see an album.?

Yeah it sucks for these new guys to work their asses off and not be appreciated for trying to keep GnR going....i think (hope) alot of that will disappear when the album comes out and people can see/hear what the new band has to offer....i know i wanna hear it

and your right, fans may want a reunion but from what we've read it doesnt seem that anybody (except Adler hihi ) wants to reunite the old GnR

I think since the new band emerged thats when the fans spilt into the catagories of Axl and the new band/Slash and VR and Co/Both bands or just the old band all together and if that is the case, they more then likely like VR better.

It's just peoples opinions, I don't think all forum members will ever be a united front for both and support both bands, it just can't happen, it's been proven after all these years.

Besides then you wouldn't have the interesting debates  hihi hihi

Who knows, maybe the tides will turn a bit when Axl finally releases Chi D.  Maybe the people that don't support the them will have a new found respect and liking to this incarnation of GNR.

Very true!   I dunno, I like both always have, always will, I won't pick sides.  I saw both in concert and they both rocked my ass off.

Only thing with Axl and Co. is they have a bit more to prove cuz they haven't released anything.

I won't hate, regardless of the album.  I'll judge it by the music, in two ways:

First, how does it compare to most other major label, modern music?  I'm sure it will be better than most, at least in my opinion.

Second, how does it measure up to what I KNOW that Slash, Duff, and Matt are capable of doing, together?  Contraband wasn't bad, IMO, but it didn't come within 100 miles of the GNR stuff, and I personally like some of their more obscure side projects better than VR, to date.

I love GN'R, personally I like Nirvana better. Why? Cause I think Kurt had more thought provoking lyrics, does that cheapen my love for GN'R, no. Civil War was genius, but Kurt never wrote My World, Shotgun Blues, Pretty Tied Up, etc. That is why I'll always relate to Cobain more and Nevermind still sounds fresh, UYI frankly sound dated. I think only some of the fans feel you have to follow Axl like cannon. I do not.

For the record, I know personally I would have hated Kurt, I may actually get along with Axl. He is a much more stable and considerate human. Kurt was a jerk, what he said to Axl was simply being a complete asshole.

My big attrection to GN'R is that they can still make new music, Nirvana is over.

I believe izzy wrote pretty tied up hihi

Why cant GnR fans like Kurt Cobain or Nirvana?

I've always liked Nirvana, but for the record, it was Cobain, not Axl, who said you had to choose one or the other.

AD: How do you feel about Guns N' Roses fans coming to see you?

KC: Well, when we played that No on 9 benefit in Portland, I said something about Guns N' Roses. Nothing nasty - I think I said, "And now, for our next song, 'Sweet Child o' Mine.'" But some kid jumped onstage and said, "Hey, man, Guns N' Roses plays awesome music, and Nirvana plays awesome music. Let's just get along and work things out, man!"

And I just couldn't help but say, "No, kid, you're really wrong. Those people are total sexist jerks, and the reason we're playing this show is to fight homophobia in a real small way. The guy is a fucking sexist and a racist and a homophobe, and you can't be on his side and be on our side. I'm sorry that I have to divide this up like this, but it's something you can't ignore. And besides they can't write good music."

Yeah, you're right...it's very wrong to form an opinion just based on Axl's presumed point of view...

I adore Slash, but I think he'll allways be more limited that Axl artistically ( he hated SCOM, NR, Estranged....he even admitted that), adn i dislike Nirvana smply because they made bad music seem cool, and everyone did it for the next 10 years

that was a different time though....and different music meant different things back then....ie rem, u2, b52's, Cure, smiths were one side of things, gnr aerosmith, crue, ozzy were another....then there was this new sound in grunge...then there was rap, then there was Soul/R&B...it was very rare to cross the lines of different genres....and there were cliques for these different fanbases......these days things are totally different....many people opemnly like many different styles of music

Guns N' Roses is my favorite band and Axl my favorite frontman.  I really do enjoy the hell out of VR.  And I hate Nirvana because they suck gooch, not because Axl says so.
