True...but, the whole "breaking down my back...." section that was referenced originally could have been added by Axl during the UYI recording. He was known to have added things to certain songs, to the sometimes chagrin of certain band members. Some of the language there sounds like vintage Axl.  I still think at least that section is about Erin Everly. Argue with me all you want.

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

First of all its 100% not about Adler.  Its about Izzy's ex.  It was written before AFD was released because lines to it even appeared on the inner sleave of AFD.  Unravelling you could be mine would be like finding some hidden meaning or some odd wordplay/code or something.  This song was written 20 years ago...this horse is almost decayed.

U mean Andy McCoy?

Izzy basically modellled himself on Andy. Cue someone mentioning Keef Richards in 5.4.3.2.1.....

Anyway, as said Izzy wrote most of the lyrics, but Axl certainly added some at a later stage, definitely the 'rap' or 'rant' (as I prefer to call it) part in the middle, which is about another one of the legal scrapes he'd got himself in between AFD and UYI. Remember Bernie Taupin and Elton John contributed a line to this song, (yeah, only a line) but it shows they were worked on after 87.

I often wondered whether the push it for more mileage, call lawyers with ridiculous demands etc. bit was similar song subject matter to Right next door to hell.

The song is about a bad relationship, not drugs.

The song is completly about drug experiences in 3rd person perspective meaning the heroin speaking to the individual just like the last verse of Coma. Listen and understand metaphors here-

I'm a cold heartbreaker fit to ''burn'' an I'll rip your heart in two and leave you ''lying'' on the bed. Basically how the drugs have a hold of whoevers life and you can't seem to shake it off at the time. Drugs destroy relationships and cause a heartbreak because by the time you ''Wake'' up and realize to get clean you have dragged your better half down with you to no turning back therefore it is a repetitive cycle and ''With the bitch slap rappin-maening banging heroin and cocaine tongue-meaning having that taste for the life of coke ''You get nothing done!''

Good lyrics

"Bitch-slap rapping" and "cocaine tongue" are phrases used to describe someone who basically says things that anger or upset you.

I think "this couch trip is getting old" refers to him sleeping on the couch to often because of the turmoil in the relationship.

I agree its about a relationship but surely there are some drug refrences...like "you've gone sketching too many times" is surely a refrence to crystal meth abuse....unless i've lost the plot with my drug lingo...anyone?

Someone who is (being) sketchy is behaving in an extremely agitated or highly emotional manner.

In the full context -
You've gone sketchin' too many times / Why don't ya give it a rest / Why / Must you find /Another reason to cry.

Basically, the girl is flipping out over nothing (from his point of view).  It could be that drugs are making her paranoid (eg cocaine abuse), but none of that is lyrically stated in the song, or even the point.

The guy in the song is basically telling her, "Look, we had a one-night stand.  It was great (maybe), but don't expect anything more out me (as far as a serious long-term relationship goes).  Stop complaining/crying/harassing me because you were expecting more than what was ever offered or promised between us.

This interpretation is a stretch, and I just don't  see  it. Besides, the  quotes for the lyrics  are wrong.

Thanks so it has something to do with a relationship but there is no doubt that the song goes into deep about drugs and most likely Angela was pretty messed up on junk and coke and I like how the lyrics put focus on both aspects then.

Thanks  for that. News flash: I lived with a musician once, and guess what, they write about their  lives. How fucking odd.
