Here Today...

Two things worth noting-

1)? "The Axl Box"- to the audience's right below Chris is a large "box"- red on the inside, black curtains on the outside, an orange "A" and an orange stripe marking where the curtains are to enter.? Inside is where Axl goes during/between to rest, change, and take oxygen (you can see the clear tubing if you're up front- it looks like the one in GNR Photographic History).? Beta joined him often in Lisbon, but the stage/tour manager (or whoever he is) always followed Axl in and stood in front of the curtain opening so people couldn't see in.

2)? Picking songs- Axl and Tommy consult before every song, apparently over what the song choice will be.? Tommy then appears to type something in a little box that's in front of Chris.? I suspect this is the job that Matt used to do- typing in the name of the song so teleprompters, etc. can be cued up by the crew.

Any other stage observations?

what box below chris? i don't see it? Huh

Yep me neither. Hard to tell the teleprompters thing from a picture too by the way.  ... Tongue

Axl and Tommy discuss the next song...then Tommy goes over to a small microphone{the type they put for Axl on NR} and tells the guys up top and probably the rest of the band what the next song is.....thats how it worked in NYC

Hmm, I wonder why Tommy gets that job? I wonder if he has a power of choice here or he just goes through a decided setlist?

Because Tommy's the musical director of GN'R.

Design purposes, I assume. Personally, I like the giant semi-circle screen in RIR. Kind of reminded me of Pink Floyd's circlular screen used during the Division Bell tour.

Yeah, I figured as much but why? It's not like it looks good.  Just.. broken.

Please don't start talking about that again.

It has nothing to do with this thread.

One cool thing I noticed was the Axl's teleprompters now are in LCD monitors, much better than those huge monitors from Illusion's era.
