izzy left gilby came in

Rhythm guitarist

Ok, now do you see anything in common with the substitutions?

Hint: None of them were "key players".

By the way, you forgot how Duff was replaced for a show back in 1988 when he went and got married.

I'M NOT THE ONE WHO BROUGHT UP AXL IN ALL OF THIS and I'm not sure what this has to do with the Matt situation ...

But .....

Didn't Axl bring in Izzy to replace Gilby when Gilby broke his wrist in a motorcycle accident too?? So I don't think Axl has a problem with bringing in a replacement when he feels he's got the best possible person for the job.? yes

buckethead quits and axl can't play one show with months to go *where do we go now*??

Gotta disagree Jarmo, the show could have gone on with a replacement or just Robin and Richard.

Tailor the setlist to the players and bring down the house with a blistering performance.

Never knew that, who replaced Duff?

Kid Chaos (ex The Cult) played with GN'R on May 27th, 1988 at the Olympic Saddledome in Calgary, Canada. The band was supporting Iron Maiden at the time.

If I remember correctly, that was during the "Skin and Bones" tour in 93. The gigs Izzy played were Milton Keynes, Tel Aviv and maybe a few more. I was hoping Gilby's hand wouldn't recover so I could see Izzy playing in Madrid, but Gilby's wrist healed on time? no

Call yourself a Cult fan and didn't know that?? Tongue

That one slipped by me, Ian and Billy fired The Kid immediately after the "Electric" tour and he didn't resurface publically until he formed The Four Horsemen, then calling himself "Haggis"...

VELVET REVOLVER have enlisted veteran drummer Mark Schulman (CHER, STEVIE NICKS, SHERYL CROW, FOREIGNER, BILLY IDOL, STEVE STEVENS) to fill in for injured Matt Sorum during the band's upcoming Ozzfest trek. VELVET REVOLVER are currently utilizing the services of Brian Tichy (OZZY OSBOURNE, SLASH'S SNAKEPIT, PRIDE & GLORY), but due to Tichy's prior touring commitments with BILLY IDOL, he will be unable to make the Ozzfest dates.

According to Schulman's official web site, Mark will taking over the drumming duties for VELVET REVOLVER beginning with the August 20 show at the Aladdin Resort & Casino. It is not presently clear how many of the Ozzfest dates Schulman will play before Sorum ? who suffered a fractured hand as the result of a recent boating accident ? returns to play with the group.

Dam, looks like Matt's hand is in worse shape then we thought.  I hope he is fine when they record the album.  He plays so hard too, you know its going to hurt the for the first few shows anyway.

I know drumming very well and I haven't seen any of you go" omg !!! poor Matt!!!!"

Do you even realise ?

Because it takes AGES to heal, i mean it, fucking ages, and i can imagine how stressful and how depressing it must be for matt Sorum as we speak. The hand and the wrist have zillions of little bones, some that don't even show on rays since they're so small, but god they hurt, i mean, like nuts ! ( i have both my wrists fractured, so i know)

Personally, i wish him the very best, and i hope he gets to recover all his drumming abilities.

I couldn't care less about shows.

They have someone to fill in, but to me, that's not what's important.

aww, is ace that nice looking girl everyone saw on recent pictures with him ?

Well, if his heart is broken, about time he found a nurse for both his wrist and his heart. Plus, it's not good to be a single man when one has a wrist problem... hihi Wink Lips Sealed

Brian Tichy? yeah he's awesome. I heard  a live version of Come On Come In from Chicago with Brian on drums and he sounds amazing.
He did a great job filling in for Matt when Snakepit 95 went on tour too.
