Well, since we havent got any news yet, and there actually is "nothing" to discuss at the time, i just want to speculate a bit  drool
I just noticed that Richard Fortus just updated he`s website with a; Links site! But he dont have the link to gnronline.com and its the same on Robinfick.com he has alot of links to varius sites, but not a link to gnronline.com In one way, i find it abit strange, that they as a members og the band, dont write a link. So, the question is. Do you think that Richard, Robin and Tommy knows that the future website to GNR wont be gnronline..?
Sorry for the lamearse Thread, but i just fealt like ask you guys! Dizzy Reed is the onlyone who links to gnronloine, but that have been there for a long time. Soo! Mybe www.gunsnroses.com will be up in the future?

Well, since the bandmembers don't seem to know whats going on, I doubt that they know anything about a possible upcoming official site. But I'm sure that once Axl decides to do one, the bandmembers will have links. A new GNR site sponsored by GNR brings up an interesting question: If the new GNR site has message boards, will that cut into the members posting here? Will this site lose alot of members, or will everyone post at both sites?

I doubt it will cut into posting here. Alot of bands OS forums really suck, not ot say that if they have an official forum it will suck, but it seems 9 times out of 10 the fan site forums are alot better and not as sterile, hell on Def Leppard's OS forum you can't even swear not that is a big deal but that is how sterile that board is.

loyal members will post here or at both sites... i will proberbly post at both... but i aint going to forget about this site...

although the idea of actually having an officail GNR site... that is hosted and monitored by them sound awsome... i think that yes, we might loose a few,.... but not me...

I don't think they consider gnronline as an official GNR site anymore (it's Interscope's website, BTW). Of course it's not, it's a fuckin' ghost site.

I'm not sure about Richard's site but I know that on Robin's site he made a point of saying that his site was not for taking/answering GNR related questions.? So I think that's one of the reasons he doesn't show a link to the GNR official website.? Another reason is probably because the GNR official site hasn't been updated for years!? Tongue

FYI:? Robin does have posted on his site that him not wanting to discuss GNR on his site is in no way a diss to the band or to us GNR fans.

That is true, but there is also alot of links on his site who is not reletive also! A link to his band wouldent make anye discussions of GNR. Anyway, maybe he know that gnronline wont be the future website! I hope so.  ok

Gnronline is not the band's official site.

It is owned, operated, and controlled by the label..it is, in essence, the LABEL'S official Guns n Roses site, not the bands.  I would venture THAT is why none of the band members link to it...because the band has no (or little) control over it's content.

i'm sure that richard, tommy, etc know that gnronline won't be the bands official site in the future.

I know it won't be the official site in the future. It's the label's site.

It's not exactly news.  The fact that it's the labels site has been widely reported by a number of different sources (jarmo included).  The site was created as a promotional vehicle for GnR Live, and was further used to promote the '02 tour.  It's housed on the labels web space, and it's webmaster's addy is an interscope one.

Most bands control the content on the OFFICIAL band site, run by them, yes. Gnronline.com isn't the official band site. Most bands do not have complete control over (input into, maybe) the content on the site used to promote their albums by the label, and owned by the label (and, indeed, in this case the address "gnronline.com" is owned by Interscope, not GnR).  That's what gnronline.com is.
