Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

« on: April 16, 2005, 11:06:26 AM »

I was thinking to that point yesterday...and I still think about it. I do think I might have a point:
- I feel Axl wants to include Rock in Rio 2006 in his concert plans. It will take place next summer. That's why the tour hasn't begun yet. Rock in Rio 2006 is still too far. A tour right now would be too soon and wouldn't be synchronized with the festival. He is waiting for a perfect synchronized agenda between the release of the album, the tour, and the festival. It would mean the album would be released around Christmas, then a single will drop, a few concerts to train and then the festival. What do you think?

May someone investigate on that point? Gigger, Loretian, Jarmo?

Why would they release the album before the single? Surely the single would do nothing if it was already out there?

Buckethead leaving ( or that is the official excuse) kept them from playing RIR 4. You know how things happen in geologic time in the world of GNR.

I think that Rock In Rio 4 (in Rio de Janeiro) will be only in 2007...

There's going to be a Rock in "Rio" in Lisboa next year, and a world wide edition in the future.

Considering the past history of tours cancelations, if GNR don't have an album out with good sales and a tour plan they follow as schedule to promote, i dought the rock in rio promoters will want to take the risk again, as a portuguese i would love to see it happen, but specially after the bad press in respectable newspapers, and the fallout with clear chanel, GNR is a hazardrisk to any concert promoters. To clean their image with the music industry Chinese Democracy has to come out and be a blast. So i'm keeping my fingers crossed for a late 2005 release or i don't think i'll have an opportuny to see them live ever  Undecided.

I don't think Axl would wait for another RIR. But I'm sure he would be happy to play in the next one.  beer
