it's in french but it says it's going to take place at Lisbon (Portugal) the november 3 2005. If I remember correctly, I think there will be another "rock in rio" at Lisbon in 2005 or 2006 so...it could be a sign for GN'R. I don't know.?I had a pretty good feeling when I discovered the article: MTV VMA-- Lisbon-- GN'R, do you see the connexion?. Don't get me wrong, the article doesn't speack about GN'R,?but it could be interesting to send requests at MTV asking for GN'R. What do you think?

Its the MTV Europe Music Awards, which is generally even worse than the American VMAs. The only people who ever win are hip hop artists, manufactured artists and those who can be arsed to fly over to Europe or those who are in desperate need of some publicity. 2002 was the last bearable VMAs, they had good artists performing and a good presenter. Regardless of what anyone says about the performance at the end Guns still rocked and for those 9 minutes the crowed was really into it. If you watch the 03/04 VMAs and EMAs no one is into it, no one looks like they are having fun. Admitidly in the case of the EMAs its because 95% of the time the event is hosted in a country that doesnt speak english but MTV insist that the entire show be presented by English presenters, no one in the audience can understand what is being said so dont have a clue whats going on. Its almost painful to watch!

There we go, that was my little rant about MTV, i think it will be a while before we see another Guns performance.

Axl does owe it to those in Lisbon though, hopefully he will make it up to them in 2005........... and to us!

In my opinion, If Axl wants to hit Europe for a future GN'R tour, performing at MTV Europe Music Awards in Lisbon is a good way to catch a large European audience. Don't forget GN'R will very likely make an European Tour at first. Tomorow I'll try to send a request to MTV Europe asking for GN'R. It will be just a request.

Yes, if CD is ready now, Axl should wait until that important MTV EMA show.  hihi

They did pretty good with ticket sales back in 2001 without any MTV award shows. Stockholm was close to sold out, I remember how The Offpsring sold less tickets than GN'R in Stockholm that summer.

If Axl is waiting for that show, which is next November, that'll be close to 2 years without anything. crying

Portugal Rocks!

The Rock in Rio tickets in Lisbon were selling great until they cancelled it. and then withh foo fighters they didn't sell so good. and many ppl returned their tickets.
well, gn'r could do many things in 2k5, but i don't think the mtv european VMA's will be part of their plans. 1st of all they'd need a cd out, and someone on mtv that would actually care... and i don't think any of those 2 options are available :\

The bad thing with the newer rock in rios are that they don't have a safe year distance like the olders (not to mention the different place).
Rock in Rio III took place 10 years after Rock in Rio II. Rock in Rio IV was 3 years later, that makes it less worth I think  Sad, not the singnificant festival that used to be.

I?m also one that had to deliver my RIR Ticket, because GN?R didn?t came here! (i Live in Lisbon!)

I don't belive that GN?R lose is power because there are more closse editions that before. There are more because they are making more money.

I don?t belive that GNR will come to EMA, because they don't feet in it?s spirit
