Title: Eastbound & Down.
Post by: MR.BROWNSTONE on February 03, 2012, 10:01:17 PM
Eastbound & Down the third season will premiere on February 12, 2012 on HBO. It was also announced that this will be its last season.

I liked the first two seasons. Does anyone else watch this show?

Last Season!? That sucks. I wonder if that is by creator's choice or hbos. I remember reading when show first came out, part of HBO creative didn't like it and it was almost axed from the get go.

I love that show. Cant wait for premiere. Thanks a bunch for posting it here, : ok: i probably wouldn't have noticed till it was already on. :smoking:

The 2nd season might have been even better than the first. Can't wait for the premiere.

Gotta love the Candlebox broken out at Shane's funeral.  Priceless!  Hadn't heard that song in some time.  Good stuff.

Sucks only two more episodes left.  :( It's going to be hard to find a show like this again.

I agree, but I will say that this season hasn't been my favorite. Maybe it's good they wrap it up before it goes downhill.

Did anyone else catch the final episode last night? It was.....interesting. I also get the feeling we may not have heard the last out of this show.

I caught it.... interesting is a good way to describe it.  I don't think we will see the show come back.  We may see more of Kenny Powers with things like the K-Swiss partnership, but I think Jody Hill and Danny McBride wanted to end the show on their own terms.

I thought about the possibility of a movie somewhere down the line, but I tend to think the show had run its course.

I thought that we could see a movie too but I agree about the show.

I guess the ending was him killing off the old Kenny Powers so he could be a new man for his family. I can see that. Unfortunately, it didn't make much sense on a practical level. But I guess it's not a show that was meant to be analyzed quite that much.

I think we may see KP in smaller doses moving ahead, internet shorts etc.

For the size of his ego, the only way he can live a normal life is to leave baseball behind. But if he leaves baseball behind, in his mind, the media is all over him for abandoning the game because he's such a popular guy and would never be left alone. So he fakes his own death. Its hilarious.

I also love how April said couldn't you just have taken us with you, which with his reaction you could tell kenny never even contemplated that.  :hihi: :smoking:

Haha yes, he looked so dumbfounded when she said that to him.

To be honest, I did not like the ending.  Jody Hill's first two movies (Foot Fist Way, Observe and Report) end with an unexpected in your face twist.  The fact that Kenny was alive and faked his own death did not sit well with me.  I was actually smiling when I thought he died.  I was expecting a drug overdose, but I knew we wouldn't be let down.  I loved the montage after he "killed" himself, thought it was great to see that for as much as people despised him they all were upset about his death which is how we, the viewers, would feel.  We all know he is a horrible person, but we love him anyway and we are sad to see him go.

But then when he faked his death.... I feel like HBO told Jody and Danny that they couldn't just kill the character off and they did it to appease HBO.  I don't think it fit in with the flow of the episode at all.

I agree totally. From an artistic standpoint it would have been better if he had died. But it seems they caved to the idea that much of the public would have hated that ending.

I never thought they would do a season 4. I can't wait to see what Kenny will get into next year. Not much left for them to do. Thanks for posting.  : ok:

I have a feeling season 4 is going to showcase his struggles with being a good faithful family man.

Haha I was shocked when I read they were doing a season 4.  I look forward to it, but I feel like it will be a huge drop-off from the first 3 seasons.  I hope not, but we'll see.

I hope it picks up a bit. To me it has fallen in quality quite a bit. Though still funnier than most on TV of course.
