Post by: D on January 31, 2010, 09:32:42 PM
Note the "Official" so no one steal it please

Grammy's suck

music industry blame downloading but just take a look at the "best" of music and that is why your sales are down fuckers.

The shit sucks

Pink was great but the rest has been shit

Only watching to see what Bon Jovi perform

Bon Jovi should've dropped "Who Says You Can't Go Home" and played all of "Living On A Prayer".  That was lame, they had America vote for a song and they played ONE verse.  The show was about as awful as I expected.  Not sure why I keep coming back each year.

From Trent Reznor:

The Grammys = the old guard / old media propping up their puppets trying to convince the outside world (and each other) they're relevant.

Note the "Official" so no one steal it please

I thought that Eminem and Lil' Wayne and the other gentleman (sorry, I don't know who that was) performance was excellent!!!  By far the best (if not only good) performance of the night.  : ok:

Were they swearing every other word during that performance or was there just a problem with my feed?  There were lots of muted parts during that song.

Yeah.  It must have been on time-delay so CBS could censor the curses out.  FAA regulations.  :-\

I wonder if the iTunes/Target version is censored also?

I figured that was the case.  If they knew they were going to be censored, couldn't they have picked a more appropriate song so you could understand what they're rapping about?

These were Slash's Tweet's during the show:

Les Paul. 93 years on planet earth, most of it dedicated to making music & all he gets is a 2 minute tribute.
Not to mention I would have liked to have heard/seen Jeff play a little longer.

Slash apparently agreed with you about Jeff Beck being awesome.

Wish Bon Jovi would have played Always. I knew they would end up playing LOAP, but Always is probably my favorite Bon Jovi song, and one of my favorite songs period. I also think it is much better live than in the studio.

Interesting. A R Rahman won two grammys. Not that any of you care, of course.

Yeah me and other BJ fans were voting the shit out of "Always"

really didn't want to hear LOAP for the 9 millionth time.

That thing was so set up for LOAP to win. I wonder if they even bothered rehearsing the other songs.

I wonder why they made such a big deal out of it and then only played 90 seconds of the song.  Way to disappoint all those who voted.

I would like for someone to explain to me what made that performance so great, because I did not see any redeeming qualities in that performance.

K thanks.

I agree.  I can't see how anyone could possibly think that was great.  They bleeped out ten second blocks every 30 seconds, you couldn't understand a thing they were rapping about.  I don't understand, the performers knew they were gonna be censored.  The grammy's knew they were going to have to censor them.  You'd think they could've come to an agreement on a more suitable song with less curse words.

I mean, I'm sure it was a great performance.  But it would've been nice to HEAR it.  Visually it was good, I guess.

IF you watch the video there is no bleeping :)

Yeah I thought about that after I posted, the video might actually be uncensored.  Alright, so maybe that one is a good performance.  I don't have the urge to watch it.  But the censored version that made it to air.  That one, I don't get.

When Elton did that with GNR, it was GREAT!!!

When Elton did that with Eminem, it was really good.

Even though Elton n' Lady GaGa did a nice job with that, I think this whole "Elton and the latest controversial performer" bit is getting old already.

yes they are all controversial i guess, but they are all very talented too, and that's the way i see it.. I used to think that lady gaga was just another product from record companys to make money but I looked into it and i was wrong, she's a real talent as well

Yeah.  I completely agree.

My point was more about how they really need to find another (new) way to showcase Elton John.  I mean he's currently involved with so many other great projects like broadway shows and movie scores/soundtracks that you'd think they'd focus more on that instead of having him do this same old bit over and over.

The performance itself was very good.  I just think the whole concept is overdone now.

I just saw slash playing the last NR solo with great artists T-Pain and Jamie Fox. I felt sorry for Slash but hey, he's making money, maybe it's what he really cares. At least, Axl has integrity. Pathetic.
