Title: New Years Resolutions
Post by: Albert S Miller on December 30, 2008, 11:46:48 AM
My resolutions for 2009

1) stop smoking completely :P (currently down to about 3 to 5 a day) nasty, stinky and so unhealthy.  I hate to love them.

2) working out at least 3 days a week ( my idea to replace a bad habit with a better one)

3) to meet one or more of the band members while on tour this year (have never tried to accomplish this)

4) practice being just a little more patience in necessary times without getting pissed off about the small stuff.

5) enjoy "Buckethead" to the fullest on New Years Eve here in Seattle

Hope all of you have a very safe and Happy NewYear in 2009

Axl4Prez2004...yes, The Dog, I know!  My screenname is sooooo 2004!  :hihi:

anyhow, my resolution is to eat no candy this year.

I still have 76 minutes to decide whether or not I will re-do all of my 2003 resolutions.
As a test of willpower, in 2003 I did not allow myself to have some of my favorite things.
no candy
no cake
no pie
no snackcakes
no french fries
no ice cream
I succeeded in '03, so I know I can do it...the question is, do I want to do this again?  I'm leaning towards yes.

As I'm sitting here with Junior Mints, Skittles and Coke, all I gotta say is: You're nuts Prez.

Dammit!  One of my New Year's resolutions was to become crazier than Polluxlm!  I will have to cross that off my list.  I've already done it!   :hihi:

Seriously Polluxlm, is Junior Mints the name of the blow-up doll?   ;D

Now, I do have to be clear.  I had one resolution for 2008...to become an Ironman.  Injuries have, and are keeping me from, my triathlon goals.  It's been a frustrating 2008.  With the exception of the Obama victory and the release of Chinese Democracy, I'm glad '08 is over.

2009, bring it on bitch!!!

No repeats.  I did that in '03.  In '08 I resolve to eat sensibly.  I resolve to run, bike, swim, or perform strength training for at least 15 minutes every day...and I also resolve to keep my avg. daily weight in '08 below 180.

D, I guess it's the lure of easy money...that, and the rush of it all.  Have you read Pete Rose's autobiography?  Interesting stuff.  I'm sure it's at the library, check it out some time.  Just remember, there's a reason why those gambling businesses, casinos, etc. do so well.  I've got a buddy of mine who has probably paid for a whole new wing of a casino in upstate NY.  There's no getting through to folks like that.  I'm glad to hear you're getting through to yourself, because that's the only way to beat the addiction.   8)

It is an addiction and the craziest thing about gambling is, its the "SURE" thing that always beats u.

U can bet on the NFL for instance and I was huge doing  parlays.

I hit 7 out of 8 teams, lose a hundred bucks and the team that would kill me would be the one that was the biggest favorite.

U  live, u learn though. it is definitely a RUSH. It is almost like the money doesn't even matter but damn what a feeling when the game gets down to the wire.

Yeah, my dad has gambled for years. He lost $1000 dollars in on sitting, and after one of these sessions, he will sit here and call his family and start bawling.

What a loser.  ::)

I just figure, people, year after year want to quit smoking but it does not seem to happen. Me on the other hand loves to smoke and thought, Fuck it, I'll smoke more. And yes it is very dear but I usually have a few bucks left at the end of the week and I can afford it.
