Title: If the record company does have CD........
Post by: gav on November 12, 2007, 03:21:25 AM
then in all seriousness can we have a discussion about the possible factors which mean we still haven't heard anything about a release.

BTW I'm assuming the company does have CD based on what Bumblefoot said candidly to a fan a couple of months ago, and also from what Mystereon cryptically posted here a few days back.

Thoughts?

Record company provides advance for the recording of CD.
Record company gets fed up with the wait.
Record company wants their cash back, so they propose the release of GH.
Axl Rose sues record company....not because he wants to stop them from releasing GH, but because he wants them to officially say one thing......We need to get our money back.....

Which they did....on record....in the courtroom.
Now, that they're all even, Axl has finished CD....and would like to get paid for the work he did.
Record company says they already paid him, but according to that statement, they got paid back for it, meaning this is a whole new deal, a whole new arrangement.

This is where i think the hold up and negotiations may be at this stage.

Axl is one smart dude.

That's about my speculation too elmir.
Save that I don't doubt that he wasn't happy about the GH release then. couldbe he didn't just lose in that round but prepared for another round not to get dodged.

As it happened they seem to have got the money back out of gh so... :)

I haven't seen anyone from the camp say the label has cd.

In november issue of brazillian Rolling Stone, there's a little story about Marc Canter (Reckless Road), who has heard several tracks of Chinese.

He also says there's a problem with Universal because Merck didn't renewed the album contract last year, making it kinda hard to deal with them.

I dunno exactly what this means, but well..
