Title: Californication
Post by: loretian on August 21, 2007, 09:00:25 PM
Has anyone watched this show?  It's okay...  nothing too great.  Last night's episode ended with Tommy Stinson's "Light of Day" song, which was pretty awesome.  Better than the whole show, actually.  :)

Has it got anything with the movie with David Ducovny and Brad Pitt? It starts here this week so I might give it ago.
The X-Files was awesome but the best thing he ever done was Evolution, that movie was just like Ghostbusters

I don't think so.  I don't know what movie you're referring to, but Brad Pitt is definitely not in this show.  It's basically David Duchovny, a few supporting actors, and lots and lots of tits...

Every sentence Hank (David Duchovny) utters sounds stupid and pretentious... so naturally all the women in the show take off their clothes.

The movie im refering to was called califorication with David Duchovny and Brad Pitt but I think it might have been spelled with a K on a C

You're thinking of the movie Kalifornia, which was pretty cool, yes. I don't get Showtime. I've already missed out on catching Dexter, Masters of Horror, and The Tudors first run, but I've really been looking forward to Duchovny's new show and I can't wait for it to hit DVD already, damn any early reviews :hihi:

You know what's a good Duchovny movie, really underrated? Playing God. I've always liked that movie, too.

Here in the USA the third season ended in December 2009 but I think the main reason this thread didn't catch on is because people were mainly talking in the main GNR section about Tommy Stinson doing the score on it (or whatever it's called for tv shows).

Though it's a way off, here's a little of what Wikipedia says we can expect in Season 4:

Season Four
The series has been renewed for a fourth season, which will begin on January 10, 2011.  Filming began on Monday 19 April 2010. Guest stars set to include Carla Gugino, who will play Abby, Hank's Lawyer.  Zoe Kravitz will play Zoe, Becca's new friend, who gets her to join her all girl band.  Rob Lowe will join the season, playing an actor looking to play Hank's character in a movie.  Michael Ealy is also said to be joining the season for 4 episodes, reportedly to be playing a new love interest for Karen.  In June 2010, it was announced that Tommy Lee would guest-star in an episode as a singer.

Californication is awesome. I've just watched the first season in less than a week. I got the DVD a while back but never really took the time to watch it.

Duchovny is incredible, girls are hot, script is witty and California is fucking cool. I'm getting the second and third seasons this week  : ok:
