Title: HEROES and PRISON BREAK
Post by: Where is Hassan Nasrallah ? on May 09, 2007, 12:46:24 PM
Im no big fan of these news series
Never saw 24 or Lost

but i did watch HEROES and PRISON BREAK  so far.

what do you think of these?

Prison break season 1 was interesting, although a bit redundant after episode 6 or 7.
Season 2 was stupid and boring.
I found that the psycho FBI guy and that Kellerman (photo) were the most interesting and complex characters.

Heroes is cool. Super heroes are always fun to watch.
The final episode of seaon 1 was a bit useless.
I found that they got too close to what X-mean does (in term of intrigue and back story) they should have been more inventive and creative.

Never seen Heroes...

I think Prison Break is quality despite being farfetched at times.  You're right, Kellerman and the other FBI guy (Mahone I think) are by far the best characters.  Actually, the two brothers aren't really that interesting now that I think about it.

Prison Break is the best show on TV, next to CSI

Never watched Prison Break.

Heroes got progressively worse as time went on.  It was interesting at first and I kept watching it for some reason, but it became harder and harder to sit through.  I don't know if anything is final yet but the last I heard the show was most likely going to be canceled.  Although it is somewhat of a cult hit and does well with DVD sales so they were thinking about possibly doing one final season.  I don't know if it's worth it though.

If you were a fan, you should somehow gain access to the DVD of the last season.

There's a bonus 2 hour "episode" that never aired on TV.  It gets you from the end of the last season to the "epilogue" scene you see in the last episode.   A bit more satisfying than just seeing that stone, there.

Netflix is streaming all the eps, now...including that one.

As of two days ago....NBC axed it.

I thought this past season was decent...but it was a SLOW build.  Took too long (almost half the season) to get going.

I thought the season started out pretty good but once everyone started going to that damn carnival things just got weird and boring.  I liked the Claire at college storyline, but once she went off to the carnival things slipped.  I certainly won't miss the show.  I was waiting for a reason to stop watching it.  Now I've got the definitive reason, cancellation.

No more Heroes.

There was talk they were going to try to do a 2 hour movie, or potentially 4-6 hour mini series, to wrap it all up.  But it looks like that fell through.

A bunch of good stuff ended or got canceled this year:

Heroes, Lost, 24, Ghost Whisperer ("chick" oriented, but still decent), FlashForward, Monk....I'm sure I'm missing other stuff, too.  Gonna be odd next year...have to "refill" the DVR. :)

That's bullshit. Heroes had so much potential.

FlashForward is still running though

Damnit. I don't understand TV stations. Kicking the good stuff and the useless shit stuff keeps running.
Any suggestions for a new series to watch?

Not yet....or at least not with any confidence.

We started watching a show called "Happy Town" on ABC which was sorta "Twin Peaks"-like.  But it's already been cancelled (after 3 eps) and I'm not even sure they're going to bring it back to show the episodes they have filmed.  They SAY they are...we'll see.

There's another show coming in a couple weeks on NBC called Persons Unknown (starts, in the states, on June 7th at 10).   That looks OK.

But as for new stuff coming next year?  Not much.  There's a few shows that I think could pan out....

The Event on NBC (looks very promising)

No Ordinary Family on ABC (has potential, but...I don't have high hopes...as it seems to be a combo of "Lost" and "Heroes" in concept)

Body of Proof on ABC (because Dana Delaney ROCKED on her cameo for Castle....and I can see her pulling this role off)

Undercovers on NBC (because, lets face it, it's JJ Abrams)

Terra Nova on Fox...if it actually comes out next season, which is debateable (because, lets face it...it's Steven Spielberg)

I'm sure some other stuff will catch my eye over the summer and leading up into the fall...but that's all I really see based on the network up fronts.

Nice Cliffhanger @ FlashForward. It's a shame we don't get to see whats coming next
