ok...just for the record if chinese democracy does come out on march 6,i will definetly be buying it!!! ...But the thing is, is that this album has cost millions and millions of dollers, and taken well over a decade to make, that if this album does come out, what if its not what we expected it to be?? what if axls made loads of changes to the songs and there all end up being crap??......maybe im just paranoied about it.....but will all this waiting just be a complete waste of time?? ???

wel i know that i don't have any doubts on this record or axl's and the bands capacity and talent

well i dont nessecerily have any doubts,(even though i just said that i did,but anyways.) its just that ive been thinkin about this ever since i heared about CD being released on march 6th. i mean i want it to be good and i know that if its done by GNR then it has to be good...i guess what i mean is, what if,(cos its cost so much money), CD is realesed and nobody thinks its any good,and then nobody wants to buy it...all this waiting will be for nothing?

so the more money you spend the worse will the record be? ::) and when it cost a lot of money to do noone will think it's good, people will buy this record

It won't be.  Judging from the leaks alone, CD will have at least 4 amazing songs, which is more than just about any other album that comes out these days (you know, the albums that have one "big single" followed by 10 tracks of filler).  Even if all the other tracks are experimental, 10 minute epics, I'm not concerned in the least.    :beer:

Judging on the concert tour, especially in the bigger markets, and how people reacted when the demos leaked nearly a year ago, i'd say interest is extraordinary.


Yeah, no one will be remember this when they pull it off the shelf and head to checkout.


I get the feeling it will be similar to the Illusion's. A few epic masterpieces, a few good rockers, a few experimental tracks, and maybe 1-2 so-so tracks. That's typically been GNR's track record.

I like the demos I've heard, so there are already enough quality songs for me to buy the album and likely enjoy it.

I think axl could re-record the singing part, now when he sounds better, much better, than in 2001-3 when most of the songs were recorded. but in the other hand, we've been waiting for so long for CD to come out. Well, axl's still got a few weeks to sing it again.  :hihi:

you got the point that wikipedia isn't the final word for things, and some of their facts can be just some rumours. (of course they are.) But still when i'm listening to i.r.s demo it sounds like axl more from 02' than 06'. (and some other songs.) And guess what, i am naive.  :peace:

before the demos this might have been worth discussing but the demos renewed my faith. it will kick ass.

In 2002, with Rhiad, OMG, and Silkworms, I would have said there  is a good chance that the album will be crap. But with the new songs, plus Maddy, CD, and Blues, I would have to agree that the chance of the album being crap is very small. We don't know about the other songs, but I would bet they will be above  average, at least I hope so!

Don't you guys understand that even for their sound, OMG & Silkworms are good for industrial/techno?

I like all the new songs. Of course, I'm not racist against Techno, like a lot of folks around here are.

Anyway, I don't think it will be crap.


But if it is, then so be it. At least we won't have to wonder anymore.

im not quite sure what being 'racist about techno' actually means...but seeing as though im not racist, i guess im not..however i do agree with most of what u said...im not really into techno either.... :hihi:

for me it's the other way around, OMG and silkworms kick ass but rhiad is not as cool, hopefully it'll be changed a lot on CD just like chinese democracy has changed a lot since 2001/02

to me it doesnt matter what people on here think.  Axl could do an acapella version of Christina Aguilera's new album and people on here would be calling it the best album ever.  90% of people on here are going to love it regardless of the music.  Being a perfectionist tends to not make a great rock album.  AFD was gritty and grungy and was not perfect and thats one reason why its great.  To me the only song I have heard that is deserving to be on a cd that took 14 years to make is "Better" and I dont think it should be #1 single material.  Thats not saying that TWAT, The Blues, Madagascar, IRS, CITR, CD or any other songs might make it there, but the only one that I have heard and thought "yeah, this is great" was Better.  Thats not saying I dont like the other songs, but the jury is still out on how good this album will be. 

Music rarely ever is "crap" some people will almost always love some music.  If music means something to you and invokes certain emotions or just cheers you up then it is worthwhile music to the person who is listening to it.  Regardless of the music the album will most likely mean something to all of the people here and because of that we will all love it.  The question is whether, people who have not invested their time investigating rumors and obsessing over lineups, will enjoy the album.

I hope they will, but so far ive only heard one track that I would deem universally good.

Just not gonna happen.  The album will be incredible.

thats a perfectionist production.. to be perfectionist is to make everything rite to achieve in your opinion the sound that you wanted.. is not to make a record that sound clean...
they intented AFD that way.. they wanted a raw, aggresive sound
they played the song like a million times
and record it 3 times each song at least...
they tried different producers to achieve that kinda sound: Paul Stanley from KISS, Manny Charlton from Nazareth. Spencer Proffer and Black Randy and Chris Weber worked on their demo tape
in their word:

But I don't think it will be crap, it would be dissapponting for many but not crap, maybe not even a master piece,but it will be for sure a cool record to have on your collection, there would be something for everybody.

with the songs we have already the rest of the album would have to be garbage for it to be crap because the songs we have heared have ranged from good to great

Well, even if its crap, we will still have closure on the whole Chinese Democracy chapter.
