Provide your comment.  Do not use foul language, or make our fanbase look retarted.  I think they were trying to joke, but it comes across awkward and insulting to GNR.  Keep in mind, this is cool for Westerburg and Stinson to work together again, but they should not diss GNR.

Newsman, I've always liked your enthusiasm, but are you ever gonna realize that GNR cant(and never will) please everybody?? They've always had some haters. Hell, even a certain percentage of their fans sit around bitching all day that "this ain't GNR". With that kind of bullshit happening, do you really think they can please all the non forum people?

I was a Replacements fan before I was a GNR fan. ?I listen to Minnesota Public Radio, and know who wrote that piece. ?Like, ?i initially said, the writer did not mean to make this sound bad. They will get a real kick at MN public radio, if a bunch of GNR fans who follow Stinson comment. ?Hopefully, they will review the Target Center show, and then it will get picked up by Morning Edition, and All Things Considered (the two most listened to shows on radio, nationally) ?James, do you have hemrhoids or something? ?Cheer up ? :-X

So is NPR the news organization that lied about WMD's?? No, that was Fox.? Fox is socialist, as they operate as a wing of the Executive office--like a Socialist controlled news agency.? Heck, Tony Snow is the spokesperson for Bush.? Secondly, who has the show Marketplace on every afternoon, promoting capitalism in it's finest form?? Really Socialist, right?? Look, NPR did not sell the fake justifications that Cheney concocted to justify the invasion of Iraq--that was Fox, your activist station, promoting an ideology like the old Soviet news organizations.? Bush is an idiot! Have you figured that out yet?  Or, are you still enjoying having your fudge packed every day by this cabal?

You missed the point.  It's supposed to be funny for them to get a few emails from GNR fans.. not to attack them for their statement.  This whole thread got blown out of its context by misreaders.

Jesus hairy Christ, this was a mild little joke about a band that takes itself seriously. A guy doesn't deserve hounding for making one innocent little quip. And for God's sake, take your politics somewhere else. I came here to talk about rock n' fuckin' roll!

Minnie, don't go spewing your liberal bullshit agenda either. Npr not biased? Please. For every action there is a re-action. Democrats lie....Republicans lie. NPR spins as does Fox. It is all a joke. As Bob Dylan once said? "Politics is an instrument of the Devil." It really is. I hate them all.? Here is all you can do-take care of yourself and your family. Then, when it comes time to vote, make your vote and shut the fuck up. The more you aggressively push your agenda, the more you piss other people off. They will go vote just to spite you! We have two parties that work in a spiteful manner instead of a harmonious one and it is simply wrecking the country. :'(

Typo--"retarded"  LOL!!!

Regarding the news, whatever? NPR by law cannont spin, and it does not.  Fox news, by definition, is not far removed from a British tabloid magazine, and spins neo-con baloney non-stop.  The problem is, as many here have noted their confusion, they believe that Fox is a legit news station.  It is not!  They have a major interest in trying to (and have to some extent) convincing those in the U.S. that real news is "liberal propaganda."  That way, when they are nailed for lying and pushing agendas, they can retort by saying it's "spun against us." Again, NPR reports the news straight--not colored by agendas of either party.  I guess, some of you just don't like the real news because it might shatter your delusions/illusions.

Now, back to the topic at hand:  enjoy giving them a pleasant reply.  I would imagine, that if enough of us intelligently reply, it would be a real kick for them to read.  Again, I don't think the writer of the blog was trying to be malicious, but we should note our opinions.

Hey, I just noticed a link to a great rock band, The Hold Steady on the MPR site.? I clicked on it, and on the side noticed they did some coverage of Bach and GNR.
There is a section on there for comments--so promote the show at the Target Center!!  Also, the writer updated his story--way to go gunners!!

What slow ticket sales?  Sales are far better than they were in 2002!  I said the U.S. culture has been dumbied down quite a bit, and the economy has taken a considerable downturn due to Bush's policies, or I should say lack thereof.  U.S. music listeners, at least many of them, seem to think that some of the shittiest music and bands are good.  I mean really, many kids think Linkin Park is better musically than GNR---and to be quite frank, that is not a considerable argument.  It's like saying David Cassidy had more influence on rock music than the Beatles.

The orginal post was comparing Canadian/Europe ticket sales to US ticket sales, with that comparison, ticket sales in the US are slow. Canada/Europe view GNR with a much higher regard than the US, and I gave them kudos for having better taste than the US when it came to GNR.  You can call it american culture if you wish, but it has NOTHING to due with who is in the whitehouse. In fact, GNR's heyday 87-93, most of that period had Reagan/ Bush in the whitehouse.  Should we give them even one ounce credit for the culture at the time of GNR's success? Of course not.   That would be as silly as even mentioning Clinton in the same sentence as Spaghetti Incident?

NPR reports true news--like Associated press does, and you my friend, are the danger--sorry, it's not Fox lies. ?When true reporting, is spun as socialist--then obviously you are biased, and completely unaware of reality. ?Take your Orwellian non-sense up your ass, and see what happens!! ?And sorry, Republican or Democrat, Bush and his posse are indefensible. ?They, are a problem for you, me, and the rest of the world. ?Fuck off, my best friend died in Iraq because of that asshole, and because Fox news told America they were "fair and balanced" yet they were selling propaganda like soma dealers do in Aldous Huxley novels. ?NPR, if fair, and reports the truth. ?Bush is pathetic, and is now caught covering up Child Molesters with Dennis Hastert. ?One lie after another from you Oil-warped freaks.

Have you figured that out yet?? Or, are you still enjoying having your fudge packed every day by this cabal?

I knew that would get you going.....weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I am not a Bush fan, I just get a kick out of your spin, blaming bush for slow GNR ticket sales.? Thats laughable.? I never said anything about Fox news. Wrong.? Fox is rightwinged junk, MPR is leftwing junk. I enjoy baiting both right wingers and left wingers, because they are all full of it.? ? It was fun getting the right wingers going when clinton was in office.? I am stuck in the middle, like most people.? Sorry bout your friend.

What slow ticket sales?? Sales are far better than they were in 2002!? I said the U.S. culture has been dumbied down quite a bit, and the economy has taken a considerable downturn due to Bush's policies, or I should say lack thereof.? U.S. music listeners, at least many of them, seem to think that some of the shittiest music and bands are good.? I mean really, many kids think Linkin Park is better musically than GNR---and to be quite frank, that is not a considerable argument.? It's like saying David Cassidy had more influence on rock music than the Beatles.? ?

The orginal post was comparing Canadian/Europe ticket sales to US ticket sales, with that comparison, ticket sales in the US are slow. Canada/Europe view GNR with a much higher regard than the US, and I gave them kudos for having better taste than the US when it came to GNR.? You can call it american culture if you wish, but it has NOTHING to due with who is in the whitehouse. In fact, GNR's heyday 87-93, most of that period had Reagan/ Bush in the whitehouse.? Should we give them even one ounce credit for the culture at the time of GNR's success? Of course not.? ?That would be as silly as even mentioning Clinton in the same sentence as Spaghetti Incident?

You are right, it really is not completely about who is in the White House, but Bush (Dumb-ya) is an archetypical American:? intelctually inferior, pompous and clueless in many regards.? But, I do think, our "bling/bling" culture that we saw on display at the MTV awards here in America, is wearing thin.? I really think, people are desiring more substance, but the corporate heads are just beginning to figure that out.? I will also note, that the influence of the Right Wing, and their attempts to control media and culture has been more significant than at anytime in recent memory.? Heck, Bush had the Dixie Chicks banned from the radio, because his largest campaign contributor is the CEO of Clear Channel.? We have been fed, sap and crap for the last five or six years in the U.S.--one really has to dig to hear and find good rock bands.?

In his defense, I started it.  Only because I knew he would go off.  My apologies to the board.

Thanks man.

I did explode, but it's all cool.  Just real frustrated about this dissaster in Iraq, and it's implications on our country, soldiers, and the young men and women of this country.  It is a very bad situation for America, and i hope more of our generation stand up and demand accoutibility for the decisions our leaders made.  With that said, bless our soldiers who put it on the line every day.

Now, isn't cool that the writer changed the article.  See folks, if we let our voices be heard in a positive manner, writers pay attention.

What slow ticket sales?

You can still get GA seats are awesome lower level seats at most of the shows still, and there's so far only 1 sell out.  MSG isn't even sold out yet!  Sales so far are really slow, and for 90 bucks a pop you can't blame the people for being hesitent.  I just some shows start to sell out soon.

Wow, if that is cause for complaining then I hate to see what you will try and organize when CD is out. There will be attacks on Axl's extensions, The "hired guns" and so on. The guy made a little (albeit not really funny) joke. I hardly see that as a reason to write in. No offense, news man, but when it comes to this band, there will be much bigger battles to fight. :peace:

Read the original post, it was not a big deal, but an effort more to try and get them to cover the show in MN.  Also, it read different before he changed his article.  It's not a big deal.

The writer of the article discovered it is not as fashonable to diss GNR as it was 10 years ago when the grunge movement was upon us. ( I put that part in a reply to the article) Yeah it was a joke on the writers part, but a lame one at best and GNR fans made him put his foot in his mouth. Strength in numbers. why bicker over politics here?????Plenty of other forums for that.
