Imagine this. Pitman's keyboard stand hydraulically moves from the main arena to a small ampitheatre located within the arena for a special solo gig. Tickets bought for the Guns N' Roses show are valid so people can swap and increase the Pitmanousity. Think it would work?

anyone who seriously doubts pittmans musical ability should listen to the album "Free Mars" by Lusk, an older project by Chris and former Tool bassist Paul D'Amour. Pittman is the lead vocals, guitarist, keyboards/effects and drums ?sounds like a cross between Queen & Radiohead, great fuckin album!!

It was all in jest. I see Pitman as sort of a cult favourite in the online community. He's a funny looking guy onstage sometimes, especially when he mucks around with his keyboard  :hihi:

I don't doubt Chris Pitman's abilities at all, he must be good if Axl keeps him around.

My World is My least favourite GnR song, probleys the only bad song on UYI2

If you remember CITR you can hear where Pittman Makes his money, that and the new Intro to Chinese Democracy.  I seriousely think he is most of the reason why GNR sounds more like a metal orchestra now adays, such a thick layer of sound.  Yes, Chris Pittman can play the fuck out of these songs.

If all the current members in the band are puttin' something on the album...it could be lyrics, melodies or any kind of noise you call music...they're doin' it because it's their job.
Since you have an opinion about a member, you'll naturally keep it. And as a fan, I'll buy the album, but I still don't like some new members...And why I should change my mind now? Because they're doin' their job?
I love music...And all these years without a band like GN'R, I discovered really good bands, songs and guitar players. But...I still prefer old school style....vocal, guitar (1), drums, bass...All  the songs I consider 'sincere', are played by bands formed like that...and they are not weak...

There's nothing wrong with all the guys who wouldn't like to see a techno keyboard player or something like this in a rock n' roll band...Maybe it's goin' to be a big deal for all the kids at the age of 12 or 13 to discover music and bring some new fresh air to the music scene some years later...

And if we're all wrong and all the new members become to rock the world...Congrats!

Agreed...not only that, if you listen to Better on the shitty RIR recording, you can hear him overpower the rest of the band (Because of the shitty mixing) and he really does fill in the sound.  :peace:

 ? ? ? ? There's those out there that are just mean and stupid, but when I (and I think most people) make a comment about Pitman here and there it is serioulsy out of love. I think "Silkworms" had great potential and anyone that listened to the Rock in Rio bootleg knows Pitman contributes a great deal to the sound of the band. Wasn't there an interview with him a little while back where he told us that he writes music with Axl, most notably "Madagascar"? ?Pitman is just so silent offstage and so crazy energetic onstage that it makes it fun to joke about him. I seriously think he rocks and won't be surprised to see his name all over Chinese Democracy.

On topic, I actually think My World would be a cool little intro to some crazy, industrial sounding song. Not a huge fan of the song, but it could definately be a cool intro.

Yeah it would be a strange ass song live, but it would be cool. Robin and Tommy could do some backup vocals it would be really different.

My least favorite as well.  It's so very, very dated at this point, and should remain in the past.  Expecially considering how exciting the new music is...there's simply no reason to bring that one back.

I'd rather hear Silkworms. Maybe after hearing the studio version though.

I can just imagine them playing it and when it's done............silence. Actually, I like My World. What if they completely changed it and made it into a rock song? That would be cool.

If Axl wrote My World today, surely it would go like

"You wanna step into My World, firstly we fuck about with CD for 7 or 8 years, then come back in to the spotlight, touring, partying every night, fucking hot women..."

I always dug my world. ITs fucking crazy! It actually made me excited about the next generation of GNR. Moreso then the same old same old. Get in the Ring is easily the worst shit GNR ever did. Just clumsy and juvenile. GITR is cringe inducing crap (and Shotgun Blues is a close second). So fine is so lame too. The last half of Breakdown is a steaming pile of liquid crap. All of these are worse then My World. My World at least is interesting, experimental, and kicks ass.

Its funny how people really cant wrap there heads around the weird shit. If something is out of the box and isn't familiar, it must suck. I would also question those who don't like the Garden too. I personally would rather Axl handled all the parts instead of Cooper but truth remains. Those who don't like Garden are squares and aren't experienced in the things that relate to it. And the fucking aggressive riffs are killer.

Many here love Better. There's no way I could see the old band coming up witth something like that.

There isn't much substance to My World. I don't mind it myself though.

Just replying to the comments about Pitman. I saw him at Hammersmith back in June (well very breifly as he walked to his coach) I said "I love silkworms man" he replied with"you should hear the studio version!" I asked him if it was going to be on the album and he walked off.

You met Pittman, and all you said was "I love Silkworms man".

Chris Pittman is God. Couldn't you have asked him the meaning of life or something?

God no. That's just what this Gn'R needs for credibility ::). Let's go back 15 years and play what is widely regarded as the worst(shittiest) song in the bands career. Not a good idea in my opinion. They already played it over the PA durring the Skin and Bones tour as the lights came on and fans were leaving the venues. That's good enough. If their gonna be dusting off any UYI songs don't be wasting one on My World.

You've awoken a sleeping giant.  My World should never be played or even mentioned by GN'R ever.  The setlists this year have been lacking interms of UYI material.  Of all the songs they could bust out from the Illusions why in God's name would they play My World?

I usually skip 'My World' when I listen to UYI II, but listened to it the last time I played it. Although the song is totally different from anyhting GN'R had done at the time and doesn't fit in with the album at all, I think it would be interesting to hear it as either/or/both an intro track for Gigs and CD. A remixed version could also do the trick here, I personally would love hearing 'My World' before Robin starts playing the opening chords to 'Welcome To The Jungle', or hopefully 'Chinese Democracy' if it becomes the opening track for gigs. A remixed verision in the same vein as 'Further Down The Spiral' ('Nine Inch Nails' remix album of 'The Downward Spiral') would make a good intro for the album as well. (I'm a Slipknot fan as well and the intro tracks are always a good precursor to the meat of the album.)

Would be interesting to hear a re_worked version of My World.

Here's some ideas:
1.Replace the backing beat with a beat that uses the same sounds as the leaked tracks (Better etc).
2.As the song is quite short, maybe once the lyrics reach their end, Robin could enter the song with some guitar solo, which could be quite short and fade off into the distance. que: song over
