Ive seen plenty of action movies in the last 6 six years, but nothing really that inspired me to buy it or put it on my favorites list ;D

Perhaps theres a few gems in that link, or else I will have to infact hit up the Napanee movie store and see if Im missing out on the 21st century.. :hihi:

Taegukgi- Greatest Korean War movie ever made. It should be in the top 10...

The Incredibles- Very credible and creative objectivist propaganda. ;)

Sin City- I'm a sucker for neo-noir, but this one deserves the praise it gets.

Oldboy- A brilliant philosophical movie. This movie really makes one think.

City of God- Kick-ass gangster movie.

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King- Do I have to explain this one?  :)

Hero- A brilliant movie that offends modern hyper-individualism. Unlike "controversial" movies about "social issues", like Crash or Remember the Titans, this movie attacks the style of thinking that has entralled the West for the past 500 years, instead of flavor of the month minority issues.

Every movie I mentioned is worth seeing. Some of them, like Oldboy and Taegukgi, might not be "entertaining", but they are definitely mind-expanding. Korean cinema has been doing really well in the past few years, actually.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World -- one of my favorite Russell Crowe movies.  An old fashioned adventure set in the high seas and told really well.

The Incredibles - Funny and not too subtle about its message. I was impressed with it as I am with most of Pixar's stuff.

Sin City -- This was worth watching on the big screen.

Gladiator -- another great Russell Crowe flick!

I don't think these two qualified as action / adventure. "Eternal sunshine..." is more of a drama. If anything else, it could be classified as a comedy, but definitely not action nor adventure. "Million Dollar Baby" is also drama, and a very sad one. Yes, the movie is about a female boxer but just because there are a few punches it doesn't make it an action movie.

Fight Club is just impossible to fit in any genre really.? If there was a category of Brilliant films, Fight Club would own that one.? :P

sub genre's don't count unless there are no major genre's listed...yeah i know the first hiccough but it'll work itself out after a few rounds ;)

An action/adventuire flick is something like Die Hard - Harry Potter?!? What have u been smoking? - thats a 'fantasy' film - just like Star Wars is 'sci-fi' not action

then vote it off if it gets nominated...i don't classify this shit....we can debate edlessly what is what or we can use IMDB...the site is right there just use it....if there is a better site to classify shit then by all means let me know and we'll switch...also like i said in the other thread...we can determine how sci-fi/fantasy is represented after this first decade and if necessary and everyone agrees then we can add that genre.

Well Izzy, I take it we're going by the imdb here.  These films are classified by more than one genre in the imdb, and action or adventure has to be one of the genres listed by the imdb.  They are all listed under action or adventure in the imdb, so they're fair play.  I got a lesson in the rules... now I can teach a course on it. :P

Ive always viewed it as a Action/Adventure movie, and even though there is some historical stuff in it, a lot of it is fiction.

Well, I was gonna sit this decade out because movie wise it sucks. Only decent movies I can think of is Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, We Were Soldiers, The Passion, The Bourne Identity. Thats all I can think of at the moment.
