Title: Which show do you prefer - "24" or " The Shield " ? Post by: COMAMOTIVE on June 19, 2006, 02:58:15 PM I have to say, I'm a huge Shield fan since day one. It's my favorite show of all-time.
Someone recently tried to convince me that 24 was better. I was reluctant, but decided to give it a shot. I've just finished season 3 of "24" , but I have to say that 24 does not touch the Shield. It's too damn goofy, un-realistic and it seems like the same thing over and over. I like it, but nothing I've seen can touch the Shield Title: Re: Which show do you prefer - "24" or " The Shield " ? I haven't watched it in a while now.

Its not bad by any stretch of the imagination, and for a non-pay channel it pushes the boundaries pretty well, from what I saw and mostly heard. Watching Jack Bauer season after season chasing a bad guy and trying to save the world to finally saving the day, to right into another emergency for next the season to do it all over again just became to ridiculous. Some parts you may be able to predict, but then others just absolutely blow your mind.

I watched the first season of the sheild, and liked it, but no where NEAR the level I like 24 (which flops back and forth in my "best show on tv" opinion with "Lost"). I thought that the show had real potential, even if it was a bit OC at times. One of the reasons that I stopped watching was the awful time that it was on over here; 8 on a Sunday, come on now, what the fuck........

I cannot wait to see what happens next season especially after what Shane did to Lem. WOWWWWWWWW! FX makes the best shows in my opinion. No other network has announced picking it up, and at least one of the main characters (the Sheriff) has another gig this fall, already. So it doesn't look good. The ending was just so fucked up, I couldn't believe it! Still a long time before the show continues... :crying: As for 24, the first season was alright but the rest of the series just doesn't hold my interest. But both shows are a little... sketchy. They're enjoyable to watch, but really, they aren't that realistic. Which is okay, the point of the shows is to entertain. The Shield feels ....real. 24 feels like fantasy, which is good, but after a few season's worth it starts to wear on you. It can be, yet the final hour plus of the season finale was all character driven, no action. The whole final episode was based on the strength of the actors.
