Title: A fan from Chinesedemocracy.com met Axl..here is post
Post by: dolphin on June 15, 2006, 10:47:16 AM
after the concert we went to the after party in prague and we saw ron thal
we told him we came from israel to see them in prague and poland and he was very excisted of that.
he signed me on my t-shirt and on mt ticket of the concert.
he told us his a jew like us and his real last name is blumenthal, we talked for a 15 minuts about israel and that he was ther in 1982 and he was very cool and nice to us.
then we went in side the club close to the vip section and then dizzy came and we ran to him and took some pictures and signed on t-shirts and on the show ticket and talked to him for 2 minuts maybe and told him that we came from israel to see them.
he was nice and cool too.
then we met tommy and brain who was very very shy and i told brain that he is the best drummer ever in gnr.
after 1 hour guess who came to the party.....

the one and only, my king, my idol, my god-w.axl rose with his bodyguard all 4 of us ran to him and shook his hand telling him we are from israel.
he smiled and was very kind and friendly.
and then he went to his friends on the vip section and we were not allowad to enter there.
axl was dancing all night 3 hours maybe with lots of blonde babes, amazing chicks that you can never even dream about it.
lots of snake moves and axl's dance , he knew all the lyrics of the songs, you know rap and shit...
any way we were 1 meters from him and looked at him like he was a friend of ours in some local club.
i went out to breathe some fresh air and then car stopped and sebasian bach and his band came out.
i shouted to him: "yo buzz whats up dude, we are from israel and we love you"
he shoock my hand and huged me and was the coolest person i ever met in my life.
he signed me at my shirt and went to axl and the boys.
axl had a big cigar and he shared it with sebastian.
2 hours later i was alone front of the vip starin' at axl's dance, my friends was outside with some chicks and axl saw me starin' with big fuckin childish smile upon my face, he came to me alone shook my hand again and i told him :" axl, you dont know how many times you saved my life, your songs are amzing, the new songs are better than ever and in 1993 in tel aviv it was the best show ever in israel."
than he looked at me with very sirious face and sayin :"i belive in israel"

i'v got shivered to my bone he thanked me for coming there and to budapest , shook my hand again , i thanked him and sayin that israel belibes in him too and than he went inside the vip section.
only in 5 in the morning they all went out to their bus and we told them:
"see you in poland"
now im in poland in some hostel and in a few hours we going to the show.

Question.

Who is Axl's bodyguard?  We know it's not Earl.

Why does this seem so strange. Like what would Axl's reaction be if I met him and said "Man, Los Angeles believes in you."

"I believe in Los Angeles"-W. Axl Rose

I have nothing against Israel obviously (my family is Jewish...even though I'm agnostic), but this is just one strange sounding dialog. Thanks though.

Considering all of the problems Israel has and all of the hostile feelings towards that country, it makes perfect sense why Axl would say that.

Its not like Axl has been a recluse during this tour so its possible.

The original poster commited to facts such as there were pictures taken and he/she got autographs so I would assume he/she will provide proof of those.

well not to turn it into a political discussion here but i think There should also be a Palastina.
The reason that this area is burning is grounded into the fact that Israel was placed there after world war 2. I don't say Israel does not belong there (!!!!!!!!!) but they way the goverment acted in the past is questionable.... + The US are covering this the whole time... But i guess that is just a part of the big "de-stabilisationing master plan" by  us (the sooo civilised western countries....)

Yeah, pretty sure he was making a political statement. Before the 80s (before Egypt officially recognised Israel) and today Palestians, Arabs - Iran etc regard Islam as an artificial state that needs to be removed, was the number one aim of the PLO, alongside forming a Palestinian state. Sounds like Axl keeps up with recent history and a bit of politics.

Guns N' Moses

I have always been proud of Axl for performing in Israel. Not getting into politics, its a special place.
Im happy to hear Axl's having a great time in Europe and keeping it real with his friends for the 1st time in 13 years.

When GNR (old band), performed in Israel in 1993, it was (and still is) the biggest international band concert ever in Israel. There were 40.000 people at the Tel-Aviv gig. Plus everytime I go to Israel, I hear Guns N' Roses music everywhere. This band just hit this country like no other bands ever. Even U2 or Madonna have never been as successfull as GNR in this country. isn't Slash half-jewish also? He played "hava naguila hava" on guitar. :)

Agreed. Perhaps we are reading a bit much into this. Axl was at a party, probably a little drunk, a little high. Sounds like he just gave a funny reply.

Apparently, you have no sense of history or you are completely ignorant of what goes on in the world! But, there are a lot of people that don't believe in Israel (i.e. Iran, the Palestinians, Bin Laden). They don't recognize it's right to exist. Some people in this country, USA, think we give too much support to Israel.

For Christ's sake (no pun intended, because it isn't one) Read a book or pick up a newspaper once in awhile.

I think it's funny that now we just shrug it off if Axl wants to drink or do drugs, when only a few months ago there would be threads popping up ever so often such as: "What drugs dig Gn'R do?!" "Who did the most drugs?!" "Was Axl a junkie or just a stoner?" :hihi:

It might not have been overtly politicial or intended as a political statement to the world, but it certainly wasn't meant to be funny. Obviously, the kid takes pride in his country and Axl was trying to make him feel good. Still, he wouldn't have said "believe" if he didn't mean it.

So he wouldn't say that.

I don't see someone who wrote the lyrics for Madagascar (with the speech of martin luther king) CD,IRS, saying something political to a fan in a party casually.

You talkin' to me?? ;D I can't tell is that sarcasm? . . .

I think it IS ENTIRELY BELIEVABLE that Axl would say "I believe in Israel". What I was responding to was someone saying that Axl meant to be "FUNNY". There is nothing funny about that. At the same time, it is not like saying "I believe that Israel should retain the lands they captured in the 6-day War".?That IS political. I think he was trying to relate to a fan and obviously the fan took a lot of pride in where he came from. And, Axl supports Israel.

Yeah but to do it today would be very very bad... 40,000 people in one place + one very big bomb = destruction...

Not true, Israel has events with crowds like that often, they just put up more security than an airport

Silly me, I guess it wouldn't be as bad as I thought.

alternativemonkey,

Read the original post before telling others to read a book n newspaper and think about it again.

Does the flow of the dialogue seem natural to you?
