Great list, I love about 5 of those songs.  Buffalo Stance is in the guilty pleasure Hall of Fame.  Another great one is Tom Jones' cover of Prince's Kiss. 

Take a Letter Maria?!  You are hardcore.  I don't know if anyone else will top that.  By the way, I love that song.

... Not that I would necesarily class it as embarrasing, but I like pretty much anything by Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and Shakira. I've also probably spelt all of their names wrong.

Forget the politics involved, they all have fantastic voices.

I like the Backstreet boys.. those dudes can sing.... Its much better than that rap music thats out all over the radio now....

Buddy Holly - Everyday (sht, don't tell anyone)

Buddy Holly isn't someone to be embarrassed by.  Without the Crickets there would be no Beatles.  I love Buddy Holly.  Anyway, I have been listening to Norah Jones and Fiona Apple lately.  It's really weird to admit, but they are both very talented females.

All kidding aside, I think everyone one has songs that they feel more comfortable listening to alone.  For example, you may want to think twice about putting New Edition on the car stereo on a first date.

I forgot to name a song in my last post.  If anyone hasn't heard "Tomorrow Never Dies" by Sheryl Crow, check it out.  It's a pretty dark song for her and I think it's fucking great.  She is gorgeous and she can write some great tunes.  I don't know what it is.  Ever since I started my Oxycontin rehab, I have been listening to more female artists and a lot of 'less aggressive' music.  9 weeks clean everybody, from every drug.  I never thought I could do it but music has been a huge help in getting me here.  Thank you Johnny Cash.

Thank you for the kind words and I did check out "Different Drum" and I know this song.  It is a good tune.  And to whoever mentioned "The Dance" by Garth Brooks, that's a good call right there.  I really like the live version from those live cd's he put out years ago.  My sister used to be the biggest Garth Brooks fan when she was in highschool.  I'm not a big country fan but you have to respect what Garth has done.

I like Jewel but I'm not ashamed ot admit it. I think she's damn sexy and she has without a doubt the sexiest voice I have ever heard. I actually owened all her albums up untill that last gong show where she tried to go all pop and shit like Britney. bad move. I saw she has a new album out but I'm afraid to buy it.  If I knew she went back to her folky style I'd buy it but I don't want anythign to do with the same type of crap that was on the last album.

Hilarious, we've all been there.  I've had a few moments where a "guilty pleasure" would come on the radio and I'd start singing along - and then realizing my friends are in the car!  The ensuing awkward silence was brutal.

I'll play embarrassing songs at the bar-my friends will see me go up to the jukebox-I have to lie and say "I didn't play this-I don't know what happened"-I've been known to sneak in Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani inbetween Korn and Velvet Revolver, or something like that-another embarrassing one for me-Hollaback Girl, but hey, it gets the girls dancing usually

If all 'manufactured pop' was like the Sugababes, you'd hear a lot less complaints from me.  :yes:
