Go The Knights

It's only really big in northern england sadly, best sport by a mile imo. I'm a Rhinos fan but I can't see anybody but Saints winning everything this year.

I notice the Knights are doing well this year, you think you can win it? I'm still haunted by the memory of Warrington picking Leeds apart largely thanks to Andrew Johns. What I wouldn't give for him to be in the Leeds team lol.

I know couldn't believe it when I found the thread and the poster was a Rhino. You go to many games?

Parramatta Eels supporter here, although the less said about their performance so far this year, the better... :nervous:

Didn't think you seemed too bad this year tbh where are you in the table? Any team with Lockyer in always has a chance  though, you've got an ex Rhino too in Tony Carroll he was legend for Rhinos so I've always shown an interest in Broncos since he went back to Brisbane.

Benn to a few but we tend to lose when I go lol I'm now banned by my mates, and have been told to go support bradford in the hope I may cause them to lose aswell

Problem is, too much pressure is put on Lockyer. He should be at fullback (we already have Karmeichel Hunt tho) so he needs a good halfback next to him. He has to try way too hard because Broncos haven't had a good half since Alfie Langer.

Pretty good game on wednesday. Danny Buderus kicks arse. But the knights copped a floggin on friday night. Fuckin dragons.

Who do u think is the most over rated player in league? NRL or Super League.
Anthony Minnachello is the most over rated player in the history of RL. I was so happy when AUS lost the tri nations last year coz of the shit team we had.

From what I've seen of Minnichello he seems a damn good player, one of the best, but you will see more of him than me but he's seen as one of the best in the world in the UK. I think in SL Paul Sculthorpe is way overrated now he hasn't played well for about 3 years now mostly due to injury but he's living off his reputation now, past his best imo.

I also enjoyed seeing NZ beat you guys but having watched GB crash out could hardly enjoy it too much.

How is the GB team rated in Oz? Every year our pundits build us up and every year we are way off the pace, when you play GB do you go into the game expecting to beat us, or feel we are a threat and we have the players to cause as much fear in your fans as Johns and Lockyer do in ours?

We kinda feel like we are gunna win. Us fans a pretty confident when it comes to playin the poms. The only player the comentators really say is a threat is Robbie Paul. I gotta admit he is awesome. But playin the kiwis is a bit different, I think its coz we see them play all the time with the NZ warriors in our comp. And the kiwi players in the NRL are pretty good.
Super League is broardcast here on pay tv. Is the NRL broardcast there, or anywhere else in the world? Not the finals or State of origin but the Regular season.

I used to do athletics with the Minichiello brothers growing up. Anthony is one hell of an athlete - definately not over rated. Perhaps not performing at the high standards he has set in the last year or so.

Great to see the Bulldogs get their butts kicked on the weekend  :D

Yeh I thought you might see it like that, can't say I'm surprised or blame you in truth we have a couple of players that can probably go toe to toe with your guys, Fielden, Peacock, Senior and Carney are all world class but unfortunately the rest of the team just isn't. We have a few youngsters with bags of potential such as Mcguire and with the right development could be very good players, so we might be a sterner test of you guys in 2-3 years. Can't say I give us a prayer this year for the Tri Nations with it being down under.

Robbie Paul has been awful for ages if the commentators still talk of him as a threat then they have'nt watched SL for a while, he was very good but he broke his arm badly in 03 and hasn't been the same player since he can barely use that arm anymore. He's become more of a pundit and a glamour boy than a player now.

Yep NRL is shown here as much as SL is, two games on sky sports along with 2 SL games every weekend and then highlights of every game midweek. Much more depth in the NRL than SL, any of about 8-10 teams seems like they could win every year, SL has 3 or 4 teams capable of winning it every year and I think only 2-3 of them could cut it in the NRL week in week out and achieve a maybe mid-table place.

Do you watch the SL much? Rhinos beat Bulls 30-0 this weekend, GET IN!

Do you mean Brian Carney?
I watch SL as much as I can but Its on when Im at work so I dont get to as much as I'd like. Is there like a State of Origin type comp in England?
SoO here used to be the best games ever. But now everyone in the teams are "New" footballers. Fast, kind hearted, gentle, pussies. SoO was such a tough game with the frontrowers always getting the ball and just hittin it up but now its much more of a backs game. Alot fatser. And you could always count on an all in within the 1st 5mins. But now the Judiciary are so hard on the players that they can barely tackel another player. Its Bullshit.

Rhinos 26- 24 Bulls get in! Scott Donald with a try in the last minute and Burrow gets a touchline conversion, it gets no better than that  : ok:

Him and Gareth Ellis must be in the running for man of steel, they have to be the two stand out players in SL this year.

I was at the Newcastle reps V GB a few weeks ago and the poms flogged us. Cant remember the score but it was huge. I havent seen this many fights in a game of footy since the 95 origin. Blue after Blue after Blue. Not just little push n shuvs but big punch ons.

Go Australia this weekend
